Minami-Alps Vacation Packages
Minami-Alps is situated approximately 70 miles (113 kilometers) west of Tokyo, the country's capital, and approximately 65 miles (105 kilometers) west of Yokohama.
Minami-Alps isn't the only spot in Yamanashi worth exploring; visitors can also take a day trip or two to experience the magic of the nearby countryside, cities and cultural attractions. Make sure you head out to the Minami Alps National Park and Chichibu Tamakai National Park in and around Kofu, approximately 7 miles (11 kilometers) distance away. A trip to Hofu is another great option. It's around 7 miles (11 kilometers) away from Minami-Alps and where you'll find the Ohirayama Ropeway and Takagawa Shinyamaguchi Country Club.
About 65 miles (105 kilometers) to the east of Minami-Alps is Kamakura, a regional center where you go see Moto Hachiman, Great Buddha and Sugimotodera. Kamakura has plenty to offer travelers keen to hang around here a little longer. Enoshima Shrine, Engakuji and Ofuna Kannon are just a couple of the other places guaranteed to delight.
Nothing unlocks hearts and minds in this fascinating planet of ours in the way language can, so know some useful Japanese words and phrases before you go. Understanding some practical phrases like "Isshoni odorimasenka?", which, in English means "Would you like to dance with me?", can help to make your stay even more pleasant. And, for "Where's the toilet?", you can learn how to say "Benjo wa doko desu ka?" It's fun to give it a spin!
When your time is up in Minami-Alps, say farewell the way Japanese's do, with a hearty "Sayōnara."
