The restaurant was good and the staff extremely attentive, friendly and interactive. Our room, while small, was clean and more than adequate with a great view of the river. Close to Old Sacramento tourist area with a great railroad museum. (1,001 reviews) We stay at The Sterling once a year. This may be the last time we do so. The main issue was the shower/tub. The main shower head would only dispense cold water. We had to use the small body shower head to clean. The water would not drain from the tub. We had multiple people staying in our room. After 2 showers, we had half a tub full of dirty water so the rest of our guests were unable to shower. The volume on the remote for the tv also did not work. The only time we saw a person at the front desk was when we checked in. I don’t know if they’re trying to save money or what but they need to staff the front desk.
