The ambiance was very nice and the staff were very friendly and professional for the most part. The rooms are aesthetically beautiful and very cozy.
Unfortunately, there were some areas that were not as pleasing. First, it was my husband’s 50th birthday celebration and I really wanted him to be surprised with a birthday banner, cake and card that was promised…that didn’t happen until I spoke with the concierge manager. So needless to say, we got it but on the next day, after his actual birthday. Second, our mattress had definitely seen better days. It should have been changed and the rainfall shower was spewing out water from different directions, which simply means it had not been properly maintained!!! Finally, on our last night we went to the rooftop restaurant for dinner. It was pretty late, around 9:30 so it wasn’t very busy. Our server messed up our order for the appetizer, ok, but we waited and waited on our entree. We saw the plates sitting in the window for at least 10 minutes and couldn’t believe they were actually ours and they served it to us as cold as it could be!!! We didn’t bother staying to complain because we didn’t see where just saying “I’m sorry “ would be sufficient. Putting it in writing is way more powerful!!!
So overall, we did like Breathless in Montego Bay but after staying at Breathless in Riviera Maya, which we loved, I know Montego Bay certainly can do much better!!!
