"While the bungalows may be on the rustic side, it is authentic and functional - and the setting is absolutely unmatched. The small pool at the centre of the compound is a Costa Rican paradise. Renters ought to be aware that it is not located in the Montezuma town, but a 2-3 km walk up steep hills from the beach. Our group was able to do the walk, but many would find it difficult without a vehicle."

"Aves is absolutely beautiful. Quite a bit more modern than the general vibe of the area, which was just great for me. The room, the pool, etc. were incredibly comfortable and relaxing, but what really made it great was the staff. Mike, the owner, and his crew were phenomenal. They helped us out in numerous ways, including arranging tours, taxis, and massages. It was a genuine pleasure to get to know them. I would gladly go back again, and again. "
