Katahdin Woods & Waters House - close to trails!

10/10 Excellent
"There is a reason why we have chosen to stay here five years running. Terrific host, Molly, and on-site caretaker, Cali, for starters. The house itself has everything you need. Great location in the center of town. Half an hour drive to Baxter Park. We couldn't ask for better accommodations and convenience."

Northern Maine Lake Camp

Northern Maine Lake Camp

8/10 Good
"it's a wonderful open floor plan with 3 sliders looking over the lake. Bit the sliders don't open or close easily, nor do any of the windows (except the bathroom and over kitchen sink). who ever cleans just adds water to the hand soap in the bathroom. The deck is right over the water which is awesome! some TLC to those things on the inside and some cosmetic stuff outside, the entire property would be magnificent! we had a very nice stay, besides the hornet nest between the main door and storm door that leads out to the pavilion.. the doors were left unlocked and my almost 80 year old mom was stung a couple times in the corner of her right eye when she went to go out that way. this could have easily been avoided. even though i'm allergic, I had spray in my car and I took care of the hornet and the nest."

Beachfront Cottage on Ambajejus Lake With Sandy Beach and a Mountain View

10/10 Excellent
"The sunsets here are amazing. The tranquility is refreshing. The modest accommodations provide the perfect combination of comfort and feeling of being in the North Maine woods. While there’s plenty of nature to enjoy in nearby Baxter State Park, you could spend days and days without leaving the cabin, just soaking in the beauty, peace and quiet, and charm of the cabin. We’ve spent a week here on 3 different vacations now and don’t plan on stopping the tradition. It’s the perfect getaway for a family in these crazy busy times. Thank you, Carol, for sharing your little slice of heaven!!"

"Pet friendly room. "Continental Breakfast" was VERY limited in selection, but it was free, so i guess you get what you pay for. (Gas station and Dunkin Donuts across the street have much of what you probably want.) We needed a place to sleep on our trip north, and this place met that need."

Family Friendly Lakefront Cottage, Ambajejus Lake

10/10 Excellent
"This property is exceptional. The "CAMP" is new and immaculate. We loved the deck, dock, water and swim float. fire pit, huge birch trees, singing frogs, eagle sightings, loon calls, beautiful conifers and huge rocks...and that's just the outside! Inside is roomy and comfortable with perfect seating to take in the view of Mt.Katadhin from the front windows! SPECTACULAR!!! The kitchen was stocked with quality utensils and appliances. The beds were very comfortable! And the shower heads were heavenly! What can I say? MY FAMILY LOVED THIS PLACE!! (ps not too far from Acadia, Bar Harbor and very close to Baxter State Park)"
