"On arrival, the reception staff were polite. However, our experience declined the following morning when we discovered there was no power on one side of the room, and the lights and power sockets were not working. We reported this issue to staff before heading out for the day. When we returned at around 9:20pm, our access cards were no longer working and we were unable to enter our room. There were no staff present at reception, so we followed the instructions provided and attempted to contact staff using the reception phone and the listed mobile number. Despite multiple attempts, no one responded. As we urgently needed access to our room for the night, we contacted customer support for assistance, which took considerable time. Meanwhile, we continued trying to reach the property. At around 10:00pm, someone finally answered, and a staff member arrived at approximately 10:20pm — over an hour after we first tried to get help. When we asked about the delay, we were told the call had only just been received and were questioned about whether we had followed the correct process. After waiting for such a long time, it was disappointing not to receive an apology. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, and we would not choose to stay here again."

"We loved our log cabin, it was very spacious, the only thing that let it down was the bedspread smelled horrible so I suspect it hadn’t been washed in a long time. I ended up taking the duvet off the spare bunk bed because I thought I was going to gag. The kitchen facilities and bathrooms are great. The hot pools are awesome and the main reason I stay here. I note that the tv wasn’t working in the tv room and there was a note telling people to use the tv in the games room instead, but when my daughter went there at 8.05pm it was locked, so that was disappointing. "

"One of the most modern looking hotels in Rotorua. Staff was excellent! Super sweet and attentive. Free parking if you’re driving down. Centrally located near by tours and activities. Always check directly with hotel for possible cheaper prices. Overall great stay! "

"I normally try to be fair in highlighting the good as well as the bad. However, the bad this time just distracted from any good. When we arrived, around 4.15pm, we were tired after a long drive. So from the start we were not happy when told our room was not ready. Next day we went out leaving, make up our room sign. We were gone for 5.5hrs, arrived back about 3pm, room was not made up. Tried to ring the service desk, no answer. Then on the evening of the night I checked out, there was a credit card charge from the Novotel. After spending many efforts to ring Novotel, I finally got through. They said the charge was for breakfast we had that morning. We did not have breakfast at the hotel any morning. They said they would check the signed docket and get back to me the next day. This did not happen. Our very first experience at the Nootel Rotorua and very last experience was not pleasant. "
