Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! Old hotel but very cozy. Breakfast was average- they had lot of variety though. For the price, it was ok. We were 4 staying in one room and didn't really feel that it was too congested. Lounge is extremely cozy after a day on mountains. They have a dry room which is great use for skiers. Onsen is awesome especially the one outside. We were using it every day. Must try dinner buffet especially because it comes with unlimited drinks, food was ok. But worth the price, i think. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Location couldn't be better- you can literally ski in ski out- although we did get a bit lost on the slopes trying to find the lifts closer to the hotel. That was mainly because we started skiing from gondola area which is only 5 mins walk away- just because we had to buy the tickets on day 1\. Woody's rental shop is also very close by so it became very convenient with rentals and stuff. Just be very careful while driving your car out of the car park in snow as it was very slippery on the end of carpark before you hit the main road."
