Love Napilli Shores!

View was epic. In my opinion there’s no reason to come to Napilli and not smell, taste, view and hear the ocean. Paradise indeed. Place was comfortable with the exception of the beds. We spent a few nights pulling mattresses onto the floor. It’s the perfect location with responsive hosts. Highly recommend.

Stunning views!

My husband and I took a much needed and long overdue vacation. This was our first time in Maui. We knew we wanted a place with an ocean view and this unit did not disappoint! We enjoyed the stunning views and sound of the waves. The unit was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside if there is no direct beach access from the unit, but it is within walking distance. The Gazebo restaurant is fantastic!!

Best view at Napili Shores

The location can’t be beat. Private and quiet. Ocean waves and birds tweeter as you sleep. Have to walk over rocks to get to Napili Kai beach area so bring good water shoes. Right next to The Gazebo for breakfast. Two small things, would have been nice to have some salt and pepper in the condo and the phone system had wires crossed so that our phone rang when people wanted the front desk or housekeeping. Not a lot but once or twice a day.

Quiet piece of paradise

We are a family of 3 with a 12year old and wanted a smaller, quiet property to enjoy Napili Bay. This unit was perfect for us. Although it’s a studio unit it’s quite spacious and located right on the ocean. The bed is comfortable and the unit had everything we could ever need. The main pool was right next to the unit on the ocean and was never busy in the afternoon when he hung out there. We loved our time here! Two things to note about the Napili Shotes resort (does not reflect on this unit or owners) 1. The Gazebo restaurant located right next to the pool has delicious food so people line up from 7am to 1pm for a spot. The line up runs along the pool and is usually minimum 20 people deep. Order take out and eat it in your room & hang out at the pool after lunch. 2. Getting to the beach is tricky. You have to maneuver over rocks to get to the bay and time it before high tide. If you have any mobility issues you would need to go to a different public beach access down the road.

Truly oceanfront, but a few caveats to comfort.

This was our second time at Napili Shores, and we highly recommend the area. Previously we stayed in bldg A, and this unit is in I, set at a different angle. we prefer A for the following reasons: 1- the winds at this time of year could only get into this (I) unit if we left the front door open- it was very hot and stuffy. Also, the noise of waves crashing over the rocks is quite loud and took a couple of days to adjust to. Otherwise, this unit was good-PROS: good fridge, decent kitchen setup, great water pressure in the shower, and nice linens, strong wifi, close to beach w turtles, near nice Shave Ice cart (Big Wave, 12p-4p), and Kitchen 5315 has some really good burgers. Cons: The fan over the bed did not work, and I tried using the app to make contact, but took 3 days to have it fixed. They knew of this and had a tower fan in the unit, but it was not quite sufficient given the unit's tendency to get hot. Repair might have been faster if I called, but I was often where there was not signal and used the app interface. Also, the bed was way too soft for our achy backs. Another issue (facility rather than unit issue) -parking was a little challenging. We rented a jeep which barely fit into many of the slots. Clearly others had the same problem and many were parked over the lines. It seemed like someone thought that they could create more parking by making narrower spaces. Hint- this doesn't work unless you specify where the narrow ones are. Also, it is good that the check-in will be changing, because one of the front desk ladies was quite dismissive when we stopped in and kept saying that we were renting privately so it was not her problem. (everyone else was great, but she had some issues). So- would we stay at Napili Shores? YES! Use this company- sure. Stay in this unit- not sure, but mostly because of the positioning of the building.

Overall it was a nice stay with easy access to the beach. The view from the room was beautiful since we were directly in front of the ocean! We were still close enough to the pool and hot tub amenities but far enough away from the noise that may come with that area. We liked that this location was not in the bustle of a heavy commercialized/ tourist spot, so it didn’t feel as busy and crowded. My partner and I had already explored much of Maui by the time we ended our trip here, so we did find the nearby food options to be limited and decent but not as great as other towns. Just like the other reviews, the bed absolutely needs to be changed! It’s a Murphy bed. The mattress has indentations from all previous use, so it is too soft, not supportive, and difficult to get a solid night of sleep. We’re a couple in our 30s, but I imagine this would be difficult for someone older or who must have a firmer bed. It’s disappointing that the property manager has not improved this despite all the negative reviews about the bed. Additionally, the outlets on either side of the bed are far away. You need an extra long charging cable to get around the Murphy bed frame. The wooden structure is useless and should just be removed for a more optimal bed setup. One of the fans (the kitchen one) did not work and seemed to not be connected to any switch. It wasn’t necessary for us, and thankfully the fan above the bed worked without issues.

Great views and accessibility to restaurants

Our room had a direct ocean-facing view of the ocean, Molokai, and Napili Bay off to the north. Every day we sat on the lanai and watched whale activity, surfers, awesome sunsets and beautiful moon and star gazing at night.Because of the lower temps and humidity, we slept with the lanai door partially open and slept to the soothing sound of waves.Our main complaint is the bed. Probably the worst bed I have slept in, in a long time. VERY soft and has deep depressions, evidence of people sleeping in it for a long time. Plus the bed creaked with every movement. I had read that others complained about the bed so I was surprised that it had not been changed out and I was disappointed the owners had not done that.Also, some of the outlets did not work, and the control for the fan above the bed was either on high or off. We could not adjust it otherwise.

The PERFECT Spot

We could not have imagined a better place to stay for our trip. This unit was so clean, had beach chairs,towels, umbrellas, and even a first aid kit which came in handy. It was even better in person and the view and sunsets from the balcony were breathtaking. Quiet area, and super super clean. We will be staying here again if we come back to Maui 110%. You are a 3 minute walk to Nāpili bay where we saw turtles snorkeling every single day. Exceeded our expectations completely.

Location, Location, Location!

We had a relaxing stay at this VRBO rental, thanks to its prime location and stunning views of the sunsets, which were truly unforgettable. The check-in process was smooth, and the Napili Shores resort beautifully captures the essence of old Hawaii. However, the unit itself could use some attention: the bathroom had stains on the walls and floor and needed a paint touch-up, and while the shower was clean, it appeared to be original. The closet was cluttered with items, the bed seemed smaller than a queen, and the beach chairs were very damaged. We ended up renting a larger umbrella from the resort store since the provided ones were small and only attached to the beach chairs and did not provide needed shade. Additionally, the WiFi was spotty, requiring frequent resets, and the cable TV went out a few times, necessitating calls to the cable company. Despite these minor inconveniences, the incredible location and view made our stay worthwhile.

The condo is shore front so the sound of breaking surf is constant and wonderful. The sunsets were fantastic every evening. We snorkeled every day and the west side has many excellent spots to see undersea life. The condo has all the utensils to make food. We had everything we needed. The bed was soft for our comfort but not a dealbreaker. We’d come back for sure.
