We absolutely love this hotel and have stayed several times previously. We had a frustrating and disappointing stay this time. Our room was on the ground floor and our windows were screwed permenantly open (due to recent hot weather). At around 10pm a team of workers came in to dismantle a stage in the function room. We could hear everything, loud banging, dragging furniture etc, presumably made worse by our window being open. This went on until close to midnight. We also had a group of youths sitting on a bench under our window who were extremely loud. I appreciate this is of no fault of the hotel but if we were able to close our window this wouldnt have been a problem.
I went to reception at around 11pm to borrow a screwdriver to remove the 4 screws holding our window open but I was not allowed to.
At around 6am, the dismantled stage was then being removed from the function room and loaded onto a lorry, again being so loud it kept us awake for another couple of hours.
This level of dusruption is really not acceptable when we paid for a nice relaxing night away.
