Fabulous situation in a castle high up above the river Inn. Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast sitting outside in the sunshine.

Worth going out of your way
This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location with fabulous food. We went out of our way to stay here (and at great additional expense to hire a car) and it was well worth it. The forest and Inn River create an almost spiritual experience and, for someone from the new world, staying in an old castle cannot be bettered. The food is delicious and the room very comfortable. Thank you to previous reviewers whose praise encouraged us to make the effort to stay here.
Pros: The forest; the old castle; the food.
Cons: Maybe some maps with short walks. It IS possible to walk down to the river.
Location: Walking, cycling, drive to Passau.

Cozy Castle
This hotel was an absolutely fabulous deal - the best place we have ever stayed. EVER. Our only regret was that we only got to stay here one night. The pictures cannot possibly do this beautifully restored castle justice. The included breakfast buffet was laid out on our own table. We didn't eat the rest of the day. Take a stroll around the grounds and take in the breath taking views. The beds are comfortable and beautifully outfitted with european sheets and down comforters. We went during the offseason and found that we were the only ones at the castle.
