  • Our GARDEN room, with off street parking, is cozy and private, and is in the middle of all the famous attractions that draw people to Newport. You are within walking distance to the beautifully landscaped MANSIONS along BELLEVUE AVENUE. The unmatched beauty of our CLIFF WALK (just 7 minute walk from the house) and our 10 MILE OCEAN DRIVE is breath-taking! Just down the street is a small private beach (also 7 minutes from the house) available to walkers, swimmers and sun bathers. We have always loved Newport and have found it amazingly beautiful, relaxing and exciting. Newport was listed on ABC GOOD MORNING AMERICA as one of the 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN AMERICA. You will enjoy watching their news video. The URL for Good Morning America's Video can be found in a Google search using key words "GMA's 10 Most Beautiful Places in America".     With a personal kitchen for your use, our GARDEN Room allows you the choice of cooking your own meals or dining out in one of our many wonderful area restaurants. The Garden Room consists of ONE LARGE ROOM with a queen bed, a sitting area, a full bath and a private kitchen. We also have a TV with Dish satellite and digital channels, a DVD player, and a small library. You can hear the ocean waves at night and have views of ALMY POND. This room is rented from March through November.

    The BEACH, the CLIFF WALK, the MANSIONS and SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY CAMPUS are all within two blocks of us. DOWNTOWN NEWPORT is 3/4 mile to the north.
    Conveniently located for you to enjoy the summer's annual NEWPORT MUSIC FESTIVAL, NEWPORT JAZZ AND FOLK FESTIVALS. Stay with us, ride bikes and avoid the traffic. Come and surf, swim, fish, bike, paddle board, sail or just relax. Just spending the day sitting on the rocks by the water on the Cliff Walk or Ocean Drive can be a delightfully, relaxing experience.

    Enjoy our yard, and sleep peacefully in our quiet location when you return from your escapades each evening.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Lou gave us excellent recommendations for things to do and restaurants. Excellent location to walk the cliff walk and even walked to a few of the mansion tours. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Comfy and Cozy

We loved our stay. Lou and Dale are the perfect hosts and provided everything necessary for a great stay. The location is beautiful and close to everything. Lou was so thoughtful in providing ideas and directions to places to see and eat making our first visit so fun!

Delightful and convenient getaway

Fantastic trip. Friendly host. Perfect location. So much better and more comfortable than a hotel. Very walkable area - especially given the flat terrain. Highly recommend nearby access to Cliff Walk.

Sweet getaway

Great location

We were in Newport for the US Men's Sr. Open at Newport CC. We loved the location of the cottage--in a quiet neighborhood close to the Cliff Walk and beach. Lou gave us excellent restaurant suggestions and was quite attentive. We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet neighborhood still close to what we wanted to do. We walked downtown every day admiring mansions on the way. We appreciated the decor and amenities.

Perfect home base for Newport stay

What an excellent property- it was the perfect spot to have as home base while in Newport. The accommodations were comfortable, the location was ideal for getting out and about and Lou's beach and food recommendations served us well. Great spot for Jazzfest

We had an amazing 4 days stay in this great spot. It is right by the Marble House, beach, free summer shuttle and the cliff walk. It was also easy to bike to the festival. There is a full kitchen for coffee in the morning or to make a meal or warm up chowder in the evening. We highly recommend a stay here if you can get it.
