Worst hotel experience ever
The bad experience started right when we arrived. The security guard wouldn't let our taxi in because he didn't have our reservation on his list. Even after showing our hotels.com confirmation he still wouldn't let us in but we had to wait for 20minutes.
When we eventually got in and told the front desk this they just laughed. No apologies.
After check-in we realised that there were 12 rowdy teenage football teams staying in the hotel as well. When we tried to escape the noise from them by going to the bigger pool, we were told it was closed for refurbishment so no other options for some peace and quiet. Again, no apologies from the hotel.
As the cherry on top of our stay, the final night the fire alarm went off at 4am. I went to reception to check and they said don't worry, it's not a fire. I said in that case you need to shut the alarm off and the staff said no. No explanation. I eventually gave up and went back to my room. The alarm continued for 30minutes.
When we checked out the staff at the reception desk didn't make a single word of apology, instead we were told we had to pay for a bottle of water from the mini bar. Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
