Great place to stay while in Nikko, its a bit away from the main part of the city- around 15min walk uphill, but the place is trully amazing and the thermal bath and sauna is cherry on top.

The hot spring and sauna were very relaxing and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious. The area has very limited food options and the walk uphill can be strenuous. Stargazing is a nice option.

I loved the villa that we stayed in. It was very spacious and clean. The bathrooms were very luxurious with a soaking tub, sauna and hotspring water. The place is a bit far to walk to from the station if you have bags, so taking a taxi for a few minutes from the station is a better option.

Absolutely recommend

This place was wonderful! I was traveling with 3 friends and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out and be comfortable. Great kitchen for family cooking and the private onsen was AMAZING! There was even a telescope for star gazing, which was a nice surprise. Highly recommend.

The in room onsen, sauna, and cold plunge tub was amazing!! The checkin/checkout process was all done on an IPad which was very cold and impersonal to me. That said, the property was very peaceful. Take a taxi up the hill. It’s about a mile and the path was full of debris. We had 4 roller bags and they fit in the taxi just fine. Enjoy!!

Rakuten villa nikko is like my dreamhouse. Everything you can possibly need are provided. The villa itself makes for a perfect vacation villa with breakfast on the lanai, beautiful TV and sofa area, wonderful setting, sauna and onsen bath. The relaxation area outside the bath smells like you are in the forest! My only complaint would be the checkin email which was never sent. As we need it to get inside the villa. If it was sent automatically, everything would be perfect.

This property was beautiful, I wish I could have stayed longer. Great kitchen, spa room with bath, everything you needed and everything felt brand new. Location was a bit out of town and was either a bus, taxi or a long walk uphill. This was my favorite property in Japan. I would definitely stay longer next time.
