"A lovely little hotel for our first night in Croatia. We wanted a place not too far from Zadar airport on the way to Plitvice. The hotel was perfect as it is newly renovated and spotlessly clean. The room was very comfortable and furnished to a high spec though a chair would have been appreciated. We had time for a lovely walk along the river to a waterfall then enjoyed an excellent pizza and beer at the hotel overlooking the river. The drive from the hotel to Plitvice is stunning."

How can I get cheap hotels in Nin?

Best tips to find a cheap hotel in Nin

  1. If you're looking to travel to Nin on a budget, you'll be happy to know that you can find hotels for as low as $67. Of course, that price is affected by amenities, star rating, and even the time of year you visit. At most, hotel prices can be as high as $144. Staying a short amount of time in Nin is an effective way to reduce hotel costs.

  2. When you cut your vacation down to just a few days, you don't have to worry as much about hotel prices since you don't have that many nights to stay. For budget hotels in Nin, 3 to 4 days should be all the nights you need. That's generally enough to enjoy the city's top attractions, though there's certainly enough to do to warrant a week-long trip.

  3. When booking cheap hotel rooms in Nin, it's typically best to book about 3 weeks in advance. Book further in advance than that and you could be paying too much for your room, as hotels will often overestimate future demand. However, if you wait too long, you might find that the hotel has been completely booked.

  4. When you utilize search filters on Expedia, you'll be able to narrow down your results in a flash. These search filters cover a wide variety of factors you may be interested in when it comes to finding a cheap hotel in Nin, including amenities such as Free Breakfast, 2-star rating, or proximity to local attractions. You can even set filters for price limits to ensure that all the displayed results are within your budget.

Which area of Nin is best to stay in for cheap hotels?
For budget-conscious travellers looking for affordable accommodation in Nin, focusing on areas slightly outside the immediate historical centre or considering guesthouses and private apartments can yield the best results. The main historical town itself has limited lodging options, which tend to be pricier due to their prime location.

Solo travellers and couples will find better value in the newer parts of Nin, often within walking distance or a short drive from the old town. These areas, while not as historically rich, offer a quieter atmosphere and a higher concentration of private rooms and apartments for rent. Many of these accommodations come with kitchenettes, allowing for self-catering and further savings on dining. Look for properties along the coastline leading up to the main beaches for a pleasant stay with easy access to the sea.

Alternatively, consider staying in the nearby village of Zaton, which is just a few kilometers from Nin. Zaton is well-known for its large holiday resort and numerous private apartments, often at more great prices than in Nin proper. It offers good public transportation links to Nin and Zadar, making exploration convenient without the need for a rental car.
When is the most affordable time to visit Nin?
The most affordable time to visit Nin, Zadar, Croatia, is during the shoulder seasons of late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to early October). These periods offer pleasant weather without the peak season crowds and prices.

For couples, these months provide a more intimate experience. The accommodation rates are lower than in July and August, and you can find better deals on car rentals if you plan to explore the surrounding Zadar region. Many local restaurants are open, offering fresh seafood and traditional Croatian dishes at more reasonable prices than during the high season, and you can enjoy leisurely strolls through the historic town without the bustling crowds.

Solo travellers will also find these times ideal for budget travel. Public transportation, including local buses from Zadar, is less crowded, and you can enjoy attractions like the Nin Saltworks or the Queen's Beach (Kraljičina plaža) peacefully. Many guesthouses and apartments offer discounted rates, allowing for extended stays without breaking the bank.
Is Nin a budget-friendly destination?
Yes, Nin is a budget-friendly destination, particularly appealing to solo travellers and couples seeking an affordable coastal escape in Croatia. Its smaller size and focus on natural beauty and history contribute to lower costs compared to larger, more popular Croatian cities.

Accommodation options in Nin often include well-priced apartments and guesthouses, which can be significantly cheaper than hotels in more bustling areas. For solo travellers, these offer a comfortable base, while couples can find charming, private stays without breaking the bank.

Much of Nin's charm lies in its free or low-cost activities. Visitors can explore the historic old town, walk along the long sandy beaches, or even try the healing mud at Queen's Beach for free. The Saltworks Museum and the Museum of Nin Antiquities offer affordable entry fees, providing cultural insights into the region's rich past.
