"We stayed at DaTea for 12 nights in early August. It is located in the quiet village of Olzai, right in the middle of the island, far from massive hotel complexes and mass tourism, while all the surrounding beaches are easily reachable by rental car within an hour or two. We got to visit a different beach each day. The stay was incredibly pleasant; everything was new and clean, and the landlady is an absolute gem! We would love to come back!!!"

"Beautiful seaside hotel, charming decor and staff. Walked to delicious restaurant for dinner and watched the sunset. The public beach across the street was clean and had chairs and umbrellas to rent if desired. My only issue is perhaps a personal preference which was the bed was too firm."

Great and peaceful location, far from the noisy towns. The owner and stuff are very friendly and helpful. Meals respect the Sardinian tradition, the ingredients are natural and fresh. Rooms are a little spartan but welcoming

What a beautiful guesthouse! Beautiful room, very clean, with everything you need. Great location in the center of the old historic district. Wonderful hosts! Will definitely come back. Only way it would be better - offer a small free breakfast.

This is a very nice hotel that caters particularly to cyclists, they rent high quality bikes at a very good rate and they are in the middle of a great area to ride in. Caroline the owner is very friendly and has good English. The town itself is very small and kind of in the middle of nowhere about 70 kilometers from Alghero airport. But if you want a nice place to stay with great food and especially if you are a cyclist it does not get a whole lot better. April is probably the best month or May...

The best area to stay in Norbello is within the historic center, particularly around the Piazza del Carmine and the streets immediately surrounding it.
This central area offers a concentrated experience of Norbello's traditional charm. You'll find yourself among well-preserved stone houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and the town's main church, the Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giorgio Martire. It's a compact and walkable area, providing a genuine sense of the local way of life.
For travelers seeking a quiet and authentic cultural experience, staying within the historic center is an excellent choice. It allows for easy exploration of the town on foot, with local shops and eateries just steps away.
When is the best time to go to Norbello?
Norbello in Sardinia, Italy, is best visited during the shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
During these months, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C), making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty and historical sites around Norbello. You'll find the countryside green and blooming in spring, and the grape harvest season in early autumn offers unique local experiences. This period is superb for couples or solo travelers looking to enjoy hiking, cycling, and discovering local culture without the peak summer rush.
The summer months of July and August bring the warmest temperatures, often exceeding 90°F (32°C), and significantly more tourists, especially in coastal areas. While Norbello itself remains relatively tranquil, nearby beaches can be crowded. If you plan to focus on coastal activities and don't mind the heat and crowds, summer can still be a good option.
Winter (November to March) in Norbello is mild but can be rainy, with temperatures typically between 45°F and 60°F (7°C to 15°C). Many tourist services and accommodations may have reduced hours or be closed during this off-season.
