We really enjoyed our stay at the Presque Isle Inn. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and you can tell they are actively working on updating and remodeling the rooms, but the renovations did not bother us at all during our stay. Our room was very large, extremely clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had amazing water pressure! Cleanliness is always important to us, and our room in particular was spotless. The staff was another highlight. There seemed to be staff everywhere, and every single person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Everyone made a point to say hello or good morning, which really stood out to us. They also have a great restaurant and bar on site, along with a pool, which makes everything very convenient. The hotel is also in a great location. We were comfortable enough that we actually extended our stay, and we would absolutely stay here again. We’re looking forward to seeing all of the updates once the renovations are complete!

It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter. Didn’t know that until the day we left to head up. The bath house was not private. One of the doors could not lock due to the door jam being broken. The soap dispenser dispensed little to no soap. I would not recommend staying at the Birds Neat in the winter if you need use of the upstairs for children. they will be cold. The beds upstairs are pretty much useless unless you’re a single sleeper. The other two singles are set up for young children who are still in danger of falling out of bed. The beds have boards on the sides that keep a person from rolling off.

The facility was clean. The breakfast was good. Tried to check in around d 11:00 am because we were in the area and was told there would be a $30.00 up charge so we decided to wait. I under stand but it really did not look that busy and we were just going to get checked In Before we went out for the day. Not a bad place to stay over all.

Stayed for business - flawless, convenient, easy location. Will be back.
