Superb stay good food great room staff superb great to stay in a hotel that still values the customer

We had emailed the hotel three times before our arrival to book a table in the restaurant and received no reply. Upon arriving at the hotel we were told that the restaurant was fully booked and that we could eat in the bar until 9pm. Unfortunately this message was given to many other patrons and the bar was overflowing with people trying to find seats and order food. A group already sat at a table said we could have their table as it was obvious there was no chance of getting served. We gratefully accepted and sat down until we reached the same conclusion as there appeared to be minimal staff on. We decided to find a local pub to eat at, which was brilliant, but not what we wanted as we chose this hotel for the facilities. The room and bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a spruce up and a clean. Breakfast starting at 8am on a weekend was a bit late for us and if you didn’t get there for when the restaurant opened you would struggle for a table. We were disappointed this time and will probably not return.
