The property was great. We only had an issue with checking in. When we provided our credit card for incidentals my card was declined. We tried other credit cards including my husbands and they all declined. It was quite embarrassing however the women at the front desk was super helpful and figured out it was an issue with Expedia. She mentioned that when I booked the rooms through Expedia the number of people in the room that was updated from 7 to 4 became an issue and the cards wouldn’t work. She figured it out and my card eventually worked. The stay itself was great.

Bathroom sink drain was clogged, we called and someone came and fixed it. Beds were just ok. TV had very few channels to watch. Also there were people in parking area that were not staying at the hotel but were hanging around smoking, and being loud for a few hours.

This was a spectacular beautiful historic Inn built in 1818 with the most beautiful view of the mountains and Phillips lake from our window and it has a beautiful fine dining with the best food I had over all in Bangor! The Mother’s Day brunch was to die for! We definately look forward to staying here again on our next visit! As a historical place I had to learn how to use the shower sprayer, but after the 1st time it was no problem. The staff was super friendly and be sure and ask them about Nathan the old caretaker who murdered his wife and her lover in room 8 then committed suicide in room 5! I highly recommend this place! Just keep in mind during the winter months and downtime season the dinningroom and bar area are closed on Monday and Tuesdays.
