Located in one of Orlando's newest and finest resort communities: Storey Lake. Less than 10 minutes from Walt Disney World! No Resort Fees with us! Free access to the resort facilities! Shine Villas never charge resort fees at Storey Lake Resort. These comprise some of the best facilities in Florida, including sports courts, resort pool, Children’s splash zone / pad areas pool slides, playgrounds and a gym as well as much more! This home away from home features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with granite counter-tops and stainless-steel appliances. A Keurig coffee station(drip machine also available) helps prepare you for early Universal or Disney Park starts or for a restful day by the pool. The open floor concept allows everyone to be together while cooking, watching TV or dipping in and out of the private pool. Each bedroom has its own TV First Floor - ground level Bedroom 1\. Haven Station. King Bed room with adjacent bathroom with large walk in shower. Sleeps 2\. Gas Grills can be rented, or as an additional amenity, the courtyard outside the front of this home has outdoor charcoal grills available for resort guests to ‘bring their own’ if you choose. Optional pool heat is available for $35/day plus tax. The minimum heating charge is $175 which includes up to 5 days of heating, add $35 for additional days. We recommend adding pool heat to your reservation during the Winter and Spring months. Booked at least 24 hours prior to arrival, there will be no additional activation/turn on fee. Where booked later than this or closer to arrival, an activation fee may apply to enable the system to be turned on by a technician. A BBQ grill with a new propane tank can be rented for your use please ask for more information about grill options. More About the Resort Storey Lake is the perfect setting for building your family memories. Naturally, with a modern, high end resort property, a fully-equipped kitchen with appliances stone counter tops and all the appliances you might need for a resort stay. High-speed Internet Wi-Fi access of course and cable TV, linens and towels as well as a starter selection hotel style bathroom amenities to get you going on your self catered trip. Noteworthy but not exhaustive:- Entrance to Storey Lake is secured by gate and guardhouse. The Hideaway - Clubhouse: There are no fees for clubhouse use (which includes fitness center, resort pool, hot tub, kiddie splash pad, half basketball court, sand volleyball, lazy river, tiki bar and ice cream shop!). Kayaking and mini-golf are available for a small charge. Some common questions answered about Storey Lake Resort! \- Are the pools heated year round? Absolutely! All pools and the lazy river are heated all year round! \- What are the pool hours? The pools open at 9 am and close at 9 pm daily unless affected by local weather / safety consideration such as lightning or seasonal storms. \- Are there activities at the Resort? Yes and the activities change monthly! Does the Mini-Golf and Kayaking cost extra? \- Mini-golf at the time of writing is $5/kids and $7/adults. Kayak rental is $15/30 mins or $20/hour. Sometimes there are specials too. \- What time does the Tiki Bar and Ice Cream Shop open/close? They open at 11 am and close 8 pm daily. \- What time does the Clubhouse open/close? 9 am – 9 pm daily. \- What time does the Fitness Center open/close? 5 am – 12 am daily. The occupancy limit for this property applies 24 hours a day and only occupants listed on the agreement may attend the home due to regulations. All reservations require completion of an electronically signed rental agreement, agreeing to the conditions of the rental which includes that no parties are permitted at this home and the community operates quiet hours outside after 9PM. ID is required to access the community. Guests are required to provide identification in the form of an ‘ID selfie' after booking and to confirm the names and ages of all adults who will be attending the property, as well as completing a signed rental agreement’. Child names (not ages) are also required for entrance into the community. This check-in / pre arrival information must be completed within 24 hours of placing the reservation or prior to arrival (which-ever is the sooner’). The primary booker must be 25 years or older (we are unable to accommodate groups of those primarily under 25 years old or from the local vicinity as a part of our responsible no party policy), however family groups with Children aged 0 -100 are welcome! If you cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, you will be eligible for a full refund. However, please note that 3.5% of any payments made will be deducted to cover card processing fees. This fee applies to each transaction, as we incur these charges from the payment provider whenever a transaction is processed or refunded. Issue #1:It was quite cool when we arrived and stayed in the 70’s throughout our trip but in the few days it did warm up we noticed the air conditioning was not working. The fan would run but no cool air was coming out of the vents. The system was set at 68 and the temp was reading 73-75 degree consistently. It wasn’t terrible as the overnight temps cooled the condo but this will definitely need to be addressed for the summer months. Issue #2:The private pool- gross. We debated having it heated but then agreed that we would not utilize it enough for the cost to heat. The pump never clicked on for our entire trip. For 6 days, the water sat stagnate and the pump/filter never turned on. There was a hose just sitting in the pool and the water looked very low. You should really get your pool maintenance company out there to inspect because there is definitely a problem. Also the overhead LED patio lights did not work. We tried every switch and nothing would turn them on. We even went as far as to check the breaker box to make sure nothing had tripped. These should be replaced.Issue #3:The master bedroom upstairs has a strange light fan frequency possibly with an adjacent condo. The overhead light and fan would randomly come on in the middle of the night or the fan would shut off. I loved this place! The home and the neighborhood both were beautiful! The check in process was very simple. The pool was warm and of course was a huge factor for the kids! I loved the fact that when we decided at the last minute to bring the baby along with us to sea world, the renters had a stroller in one of the closets. The home was clean upon arrival but there were some issues during the stay. I did not like the fact that there are no curtains to cover the back sliding door off of the kitchen. This leaves complete view into the home from the back. The air conditioning didn’t work good. There was a note that said the ac “works best on 75”, which was not the case. The upstairs was warm the whole time we were there. Light bulbs flashed continuously in two bathrooms while we were there signaling they needed to be changed. Several evenings that we came back to the home, there were cones placed in parking spots making us have to park away from the home. The safety was an issue here. The code that is used to open the front door was left on the front of the lock box for anyone to see. We didn’t notice this until day two when we took it upon ourselves to roll the numbers. There was an argument between tenants staying across from the home around 4am that got pretty bad. Although this isn’t any fault of the owners, it made us very uncomfortable. In the email that was sent to us after checkout it stated to let the owners know of any issues we experienced throughout the stay. We did just that and they were basically dismissed. If you are basing your interest in this property on the pictures of the pool for your kids forget about it. The owners have not paid their HOA fees so we were not allowed to use the pool at all. We got turned away at the door. The owners, (and VRBO), said they would resolve it and never did. They actually sent me an email that it was resolved and then followed it up with an email saying to disregard the previous email...it was for another tenant. They never got back to me about a resolution at all for our unit. The unit wasn't filthy but it wasn't great as far as cleanliness. We had a number of dishes and utensils that came out of the cupboards with food on them. As far as kitchen supplies there were barely enough plates, glasses, and utensils for the 6 of us for one meal. Barely enough kitchen goods to even put together a decent dinner. On top of everything else the AC was broken when we checked in. They did fix that but have a sticker on the wall saying that the AC works best when set at 75 degrees. Unfortunately that means the upstairs bedrooms are almost 80 degrees. Not super comfortable for sleeping. I have stayed at a lot of rental properties for pleasure and business and this is definitely at the bottom. The home had everything we needed for our stay. It is clean, spacious, and close to Disney parks! Check in process was quick and easy and response time from the property manager was quick. The property's clubhouse and waterpark area were amazing, it had something for adults, our 2 year old, and our 13 year old son and friend to enjoy. The unit was only a short walk away from the clubhouse, which was nice to hit at the end of the day to relax. The property was perfectly located from all the parks; we went to a combination of Universal, Disney, and Discovery Cove and all were 10-20 minutes away. The dirty carpet in the bedrooms and stairs was just dirty. The furniture was dirty and the barstools were unusable. The sofa would sink down when sitting, the dishes were not cleaned, trash were left , floor not swept, the fridge dirty. We loved the pool in house, as well as the big pool and lazy river. Communication was great and very quick to respond.
