THIS luxurious pool with a jacuzzi and waterfall estate is the ULTIMATE property in the heart of the Movie Colony Neighborhood. Located just a few blocks from the downtown center of Palm Springs, Ruth Hardy Park, five star restaurants, cafes, the famous Spa Casino and the historic O`Donnell Country Club are all within an easy walking distance.
Formerly owned by Dale Wassermann who wrote `One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,` this luxury estate is crazy good! If you’re looking for a large private property, luscious greenery, and luxuriously appointed, this private Movie Colony Neighborhood estate is for you.

Lavish layout includes living room, dining room, and step-down media room. There’s not only a large modern kitchen, but also a butler’s pantry, replete with a bar and 2 wine refrigerators.
The landscaped exterior with its jaw-dropping waterfall, pristine pool, jacuzzi and private sunning area make being out of doors a magnificent experience. A covered patio runs the length of the house providing shade and a breeze from 2 exterior-ceiling mounted fans. Features include Chaise lounges, conversation corners, and dining tables that collectively serve up to 20 guests. And, the separate Casita makes it easy to vacation together, yet provide “alone” time, too.

Perfect location in Movie Colony !

This was a great space for our large group to enjoy downtown palm springs. Bedrooms were nicely spaced out and plenty of space and activities.

Awesome house

This house is absolutely beautiful! There were 13 people in our party and we still had lots of rooms. Everyone in my family decided that they want to come back to the same house next year. Absolutely incredible property

The pictures don't do this place justice, it's an absolute gem in the heart of Palm Springs. It's walking distance to anything you'd every need. David and the Modmansions team are absolute professionals in this business and this felt like a private hotel in the best of ways. This is a perfect place for a family and friend retreat in the sun and I would recommend this property to anyone asking. It feels both like a private retreat in the middle of nowhere and right in the middle of the action at the same time. Thank you David and the Modmansions team!

Cuckoo Nest Golf and Fun

The house was very clean, well stocked and set up for fun and relaxation. The neighborhood was quiet. David was awesome and available if needed. We had no problems and the backyard pool and spa were so inviting. 8 ladies came for golf and really enjoyed coming home each day.

Awesome Palm Springs getaway

Our group loved the Cuckoo Nest. Every single person could not stop raving about how incredible this house was. Perfect location with tons to walk to and an incredible pool to enjoy. Don't worry about all of the rules, just keep the music inside and quiet hours outside after 8pm and you will be fine!

Family Wedding

This was the perfect home for our family visiting Palm Springs for my son’s wedding. The yard and pool were n more beautiful than pictures and we all had our own bedrooms . The kitchen had everything we could need and more !! David was a wonderful host and the check in was very easy . Located in a beautiful neighborhood within walking distance to downtown PS . Would definitely recommend !!

Amazing property

This property was perfect for our family. The kitchen was great for multiple cooks and the pool and hot tub were a great gathering place. Close to a great coffee shop and restaurants. Nice park with a playground less than 2 blocks away. Host was very responsive.

Movie Colony Nirvana

This house is fabulous. It is large and well laid out. The outdoor space and furniture is fantastic with multiple seating areas and arrangements. The pool has a lovely waterfall in it. There is an outside fireplace and a large gas grill. Inside, the kitchen is very well stocked. it has everything and more. I have rented houses and condos for 35 years and this is the best stocked kitchen ever. It has a subzero refrigerator, a viking stove, several sinks and two dishwashers in the kitchen. As an example, there are two crockpots, 3 coffee pots, a dozen frying pans, glassware for dozens and on and on. An extra refrigerator is in one of the garages. There is a whole cabinet of plastic glassware for the pool area alone. The house has a room that is a bar adjacent to the kitchen. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean and well stocked with towels, washcloths and hand towels. The house was very very clean. There are two living rooms, two large dining room tables. There are two driveways off of two different streets so plenty of room for 6 cars.It is very easy to rent and the response from the management is immediate and awesome. We called about a faucet in the kitchen that needed attention and the maintenance staff came and fixed it. The location is supreme - walkable to everything in downtown Palm Springs. Location, location, location. There were 9 of us with 7 bedrooms and at least 6 bathrooms - perfect for all.

Great multi-family house!

Lots of room for group gatherings and private retreats. Well stocked kitchen with pots, pans and utensils (and more spices/seasonings than in the description). Lovely pool and spa. Great location a few blocks from downtown Palm Springs. Who could ask for anything more? My family and I had a wonderful time! Thank you ModMansions!!!

Top notch property in wonderful neighborhood

We were a group of 8 friends for a 3 night stay here. The house is huge, very well appointed and spotless upon check in. It also has wonderful separation of space between the bedrooms and the living room/kitchen areas. Our host, David, met us at the property for check in and gave us a very thorough tour. There was a lot of information, but he assured us that he would be available for questions during our stay. The kitchen has everything you could ever need and it is all in very good condition, unlike some other rental properties. The yard is beautiful and very private. The pool is in the shade, which was great during such hot temps. Floaties are supplied for the pool. Love that! There are numerous signs everywhere stating the rules and penalties of the property. Though these can be offputting, it is completely understandable that the owners are just trying to protect their investment and hoping, in this time of folks not reading things, that the volume of written information will get through. This is a superb house, especially for a large group and the hosts are five star.

Great spot for our group of 12 adults. Very roomy, everyone was comfortable. We all agreed that we would stay here again. We did have a plumbing issue on our last night but property manager Dave was very responsive and helpful.

Highly recommend this house!

This property was everything we could have hoped for! It was close to the airport, restaurants and shopping. David was so accommodating and helpful. The pool was perfect for the heat and our group had some great bonding moments just hanging out at the house both inside and on the deck. We would definitely recommend this place to families and friends! And don’t be I intimidated by the rules as Palm Springs is just strict with noise ordinances and such. Thank you David and family for a great stay!

The Best!

We are a group of 8; high school buddies who get together somewhere in the country, every year, for the past 24 years. This was the absolute BEST house we have ever rented. David was a fantastic host, met us upon arrival, showed us how everything works (nobody does this), and was available through text if we needed him (we did not). The house is completely stocked with anything you could possibly want/need. The rooms were unique and extremely comfortable. The showers were awesome. The pool and patio area can’t be beat. The noise ordinance deal was not an issue for our group. This place is beyond a 5-Star!

Wonderful Family Vacation

I rented this house for a week for a special family vacation. We were a group of 8 adults and 5 children. The house is brilliant in every way. The location is perfect and very secure.The indoor and outdoor living spaces are large, functional and well furnished. The bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent. The master suite is luxurious. The kitchen was very well equipped. The pool and spa were perfect. Our very friendly host, Dave, met us and showed us everything we needed to know. We couldn't have had a better place to gather.
