My trip to the Amazon was one of the highlights of a three-week vacation to Latin America, and I owe it in large part to Amazon Nativo Lodge. Please note that you should contact them independently soon after. They will arrange your transportation from the airport to the lodge. They also have plenty of tour and activity options, which I highly recommend. Although I'm not one for guided tours, I'm thankful they have guides so familiar with the jungle because it would have been hard to find my way back, and I also would have missed some animals and unique plant life they pointed out, including ice cream beans and a troop of monkeys passing through the trees overhead. They really put out the welcome mat for me and ensured that I was comfortable. You will also get all three meals provided, though I recommend bringing snacks just in case as you'll be far from the city. I slept great while I was here. It's far enough removed from the river that you won't hear passing motorboats, rather you'll get soothing sounds from the jungle. And living in a large city, I also forgot how many stars there are in the sky without light pollution until I saw the clear night sky here. I loved my time at the lodge and can't recommend them enough.

It was AMAZING! The service was beyond perfect. Mamerto, Alfredo, Victor, and the AMAK team were the perfect hosts. The place is already a paradise and in addition the food is delicious. Excellent service + nice accommodations + interesting tours + delicious food = Perfect Place for Vacation

Lacking basic necessities. Electricity limited to 4 hours a day. After 10PM the whole lodge goes pitch black in the middle of the jungle. No furniture in your room except for a bed with no cushioning and rough bedsheets. No hot water. Not even soap or a small mirror in bathroom. Rough unfinished wood on walls. Transport to lodge is done in boats in terrible dirty unsafe boats with no adequate life vests. Two hours on the river to get there. Water getting inside boat and driver scooping it out by hand on three or four different occasions during trip. No front desk. If you need something good luck trying to find help from staff. Especially in the dark nights. No lantern? Out of luck No fans. Extreme jungle heat with not even a fan. Need WiFi? Wait until 6PM and only for 4 hours. Local tours extremely expensive and on boats in even worse condition. No roof. No life vest. Never again!

I traveled with my family to the Cumaceba lodge. We stayed for three nights and four days. We had an amazing Amazon experience! Our guide Dixon was fabulous! He made our stay even better by his experience and knowledge of the area, animals, and flora. The 2 to 3 excursions per day kept us busy and always wanting to find more wonders of the rainforest. I would truly recommend this lodge if you are wanting a hands-on experience of the Amazon.
