This property really does look like the pictures. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the host was very accommodating and regularly checked on us over messages to see if we were having a good time. The area is wonderful! The biggest “hurdle” so to speak was not the host’s fault, but just be mindful that the apartment is very high up the mountain in relation to Varenna. It is a very steep walk for about 20 minutes to get to the apartment from Varenna. The walk into Varenna is all downhill. The taxi is worth it if you are carrying bags to/from the train station, although the taxi suggested by the host was not able to accommodate the times we needed it for so we did some research and found another service. Uber is a thing, but plan on spending lots of money for it and planning it in advance. If you have a car however, this might be more doable although parking can also be difficult to find if you plan on using a car to get into Varenna. Again however, the views of the apartment make any inconvenience worth it. Overall we would definitely recommend!
