Florida Waterfront Country Home, Fishing & Pet Friendly

Enjoy a cozy waterfront cottage nestled in the backwoods of Madison County Florida, one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas in North Florida! If you are adventurous this is the place for you! This small country home has one large bedroom with a new queen size memory foam mattress (sleeps 2) a futon (sleeps 2 children) and a 32" TV with ROKU and DVD player for movies. A large equipt kitchen and bathroom with bathtub/shower. The Living-room has a futon (sleeps one or two). For an extra guest there is an air mattress. There is Internet/Wifi (the password is posted on the fridge) and a 50" TV with ROKU and DVD player with movies or rent movies from the Redbox just down the road in front of the Dollar General Store. The beautiful stone fireplace is decorative only! The property is on 2 acres of nature and wildlife with a canopy of trees and beautiful sunsets on the water! Watch for the deer, turkeys and huge owls that come by! This is the perfect place for a truly relaxing vacation getting back to basics to enjoy the beauty of nature and outdoor fun! Board games and cards are provided for family fun! There is a canoe, life jackets and Fishing poles are in the well house for some good bass fishing or sit on the dock to soak up some Florida sun! This is private property and you do not need a fishing license to fish here! You may also set up tents for a great camping experience! Roast marshmallows by the rustic fire pit or sit on the back deck where smoking is permitted and outdoor chairs are provided! A charcoal grill is provided for your cooking out pleasure, need to supply your own charcoal. Phlox Pond may be rented for events such as weddings for an additional charge. Guest would be responsible for property clean up as well as any property damage. Message owner for details. Be sure to visit the many beautiful parks and natural springs as well as the famous Suwanee River Music Park located in Live Oak. Wild Adventures Amusement Park is nearby and plenty of restaurants and shopping in Valdosta Georgia just 30 minutes away! Dollar General is one mile and Winn Dixie is in town about 10 miles! You are sure to enjoy the southern charm of Madison County and the small town of Pinetta! This home is in the middle of the woods and the lightening bugs are really cool. We know you will enjoy this country getaway!
BE SURE TO WATCH THE VIDEO OF THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE! If you need additional space we also have Phlox Place (a cozy cabin) just down the road!
If you are looking for a good church during your visit, Pinetta United Methodist Church is just 5 minuets down the road on the corner at Colin Kelly Hwy. We did have a Cat 3 hurricane come through last fall and Madison is still cleaning up the down trees. Thankfully plenty of firewood for the firepit!

We had a wonderful time. Loved the property! The fishing was fun and my granddaughter caught a lizard and tree frogs! She loved it. 17 minutes from Wild Adventures and we would love to stay again!

Very peaceful

Love the property. Was so peaceful out on the dock while fishing. The house was lovely. We started a fire and sat around the fire pit most of weekend. We love our stay and will be returning.

Wonderful Place to Unplug

This place was wonderful! It’s tucked enough away to enjoy the solitude, but not enough to make a run into town for things you need. This is a wonderful place to unwind and reset and Lisa, our host, had great communication with us! Everything was clean and had a very welcoming feel. This was the perfect place for us to get away from it all and just kick back. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much Lisa!

New Year’s Getaway

We went for a quick getaway for the New Year. This place did not disappoint!! Super quaint and secluded. The dock and the lake were serene! We took our cat and dog and they loved the property too! Plenty of things outdoors to do locally and we felt like we were the only ones around at the property! Highly recommend this place and we are already planning a week long summer trip back!!

Restful Quiet

If your looking for peace and quiet this is the place. The home is out of town and in the woods. Nothing but you, trees and a lake. The home is fully stocked with bedding options, bathing amenities, kitchen ware and multiple tv watching options. The owner is very friendly and quick to respond to messages. This home is definitely worth the money.

Weekend getaway

Nice peaceful and quiet weekend away. Property was as advertised and the host. Lisa communicated with us back-and-forth any time that was necessary. The property itself was really nice, except for all the storm debris everywhere, but hard to be critical of that, considering they had a hurricane come through recently. Would definitely stay again, as it was exactly what we wanted quiet and no one around. thanks, Lisa

Remote Escape...

This property is a home away from home. Extremely remote and extremely quiet. The couch and the bed are both very comfortable and the host provides extra linens. We stayed here a week after Tropical Storm Debby went through so there were alot of trees down. Hosts moved all trees to property extremities but would like to return when all the debris is gone. The lake is private and has beautiful sunsets. No regular Tv, but host provides alot of DVDS to watch once the sun goes down. We took all our own food and never left the cabin..perfect escape

My Vision

My vision for my birthday was simple. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the city. I wanted peace and quiet. I wanted seclusion. I wanted to go fishing. Good Times on Phlox Pond

This is a charming place with a wilderness feel. You will receive unmatched refreshment and peace in this quiet spot. Pull a chair to the dock and enjoy gorgeous sunrises and ethereal sunsets. Take the canoe that is provided for a ride around the pond and check out the abundant lily pads or fish for bass. Didn’t see any gators, but surely there are a few around. There is a very nice fire pit in the yard and plenty of space for parking. The house is a bit rough around the edges, but it has air conditioning, hot water for showers, stove, refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of towels and linens. The host is also very responsive. There is a laundromat in nearby Madison as well as groceries and restaurants. We had a very nice time and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle of life.

Yes, you can get away from it all!

The owners description and photos were spot on, and I thank them for that! It's hard to describe a real cabin on a very large pond (although I would call it a small lake!) in a quiet location. The cabin is on 2 acres and the dock is a really nice size. It has the ambiance of your grandparents lakeside summer cabin updated with modern amenities like A/C, lots of hot water, Roku TV, great WiFi service. If you need to get any supplies, the Dollar General is 5 min away in the nice, clean, quiet town of Pinetta. We didn't go offsite to do tourist things so I can't elaborate on that. What I can say is if you truly want to get away from the hustle and bustle and not panic because of no wifi or streaming services you will like this place. The owners respond to your emails very quickly and they are very polite and generous. This would be a great place to visit for all 4 seasons.
