“Fabulous location with friendly hosts. We stayed here with my limited-mobility mother and four teens, and it was the best weekend getaway we’ve had for ages. Loved the house, the location, the setting, and the welcoming environment. The downstairs bedrooms (a couple of steps up from the driveway), showers with only a low step, and a downstairs living area meant my mum, who walks with a stick, didn’t have to struggle with full flights of stairs. The kids entertained themselves, leaving the adults……

“The house is very well equipped and is private. Awesome deck which looks out to bush and a reserve. The beds are very hard, which was the only down fall for us. If you like a hard bed then the house is perfect.”

“Over all good bar the sleeping arrangements and the odd bath room set up which could not be locked for privacy. Not suitable for easy access with 6 metre boat in tow very tricky driveway and would be near impossible without a 4 drive vehicle.”

“Great place to stay for a long weekend getaway. House is very cool with lots of space to play and have quiet time if needed. Lovely big lawn to activities, kayaks and dinghy were great. Lots of toys books and dvds for rainy days. Pretty much all bases are covered! Such a special place highly recommend.”

“Everything you could need for a long or short stay. Great veranda to enjoy the morning coffee from (or any time of day). If your tall, you need to watch the height of a couple of the doorways at night. Would definitely stay again.”

“A beautiful family beach holiday crib right by the seashore. Lawns for cricket in the evenings; mud flats to explore at low tide; a wee beach or two to wander along; log fire for chilly autumn mornings and those long holiday evenings sitting round playing board games and cards together. We couldn’t have dreamed of anything better than what we had the privilege of enjoying here thank you to the hosts who share their slice of paradise”

“A little noisy during night with other people either arriving or departing on ferries but good place to stay overnight. clean and tidy, good facilities.”

“Situated overlooking Portage and 270deg views. Had a perfectly relaxing weekend with kayaking and walking and plenty of spa time. You don't have the house to yourself which we didn't realise when we booked it. However, you don't see the owners and your little self contained room is accessible without disturbing them.”

“Blue cod off jetty, shark and stingray cruising by. Amazing forest walks. Bathroom was not so clean and bbq so dirty it caught fire but we cleaned it and carried on. It was well worth it!!!”

“The place is remote and fabulous with a steep gravel driveway and set far above the road for noiseless nights of stargazing. It requires a little bit of off grid savvy but nothing even this 60 year old New Yorker couldn’t learn in seconds. The view is absolutely stunning, the house is quite comfortable. Very comfortable beds, spotless, shower, washing machine, beautiful, wounding, deck, Thoughtful touches as well, kitchen with small walkin pantry was clean and well-equipped. Surrounded by lush,……

“Although the reception is not opened for 24 hours, the duty staffs were helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is a little bit far from the ferry terminal, it is still OK because Picton is safe even we needed to walk in the darkness between the terminal and the hotel. In addition, two supermarkets are not far away. I will choose this hotel again if I come back especially the room rate is reasonable. ”
