Book Poggio Rusco Bed & Breakfast

"5 girlfriends stayed for a week and it was fabulous ~ We were greeted with a tray of cannelloni’s on the dining room table! The house was clean and spacious. A very quiet country location. We each had our own bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes though it could use more dish towels and some hot pads/oven mitts. It was nice to have a washing machine and clothes line. We sat outside each morning to drink our coffee which was just lovely.. birds singing, a rooster way off in the distance welcoming in the day. With 5 women in the house we had to buy additional toilet paper. Italy sells the prettiest! Pink flowers with bumble bees. Wish I had room to take a bunch back to the states! We took an evening stroll down the road to the local pizzeria and had the nicest waitress who was from Romania. We went somewhere different everyday. The longest drive was 75 minutes and always on country roads and along fields of red poppies. Absolutely glorious! Of course, we stopped and took pictures of the 5 of us in those poppy fields. An overall fantastic stay👏👏👏"

"When you pay for a service and it’s 25 degrees outside and you get back to hotel after a long day at show you expect to have a room that the temperature is adequate to get a good nights sleep. The air conditioning was not yet operational. When I asked reception they told me it was not possible. So 5 sweaty nights sleeping with window opened. On the last morning at 7am there was no hot water. So I had to take a cold shower. I understand energy costs are hi in Italy but trying to save but cutting a/c and hot water is ridiculous!"

"I thought the staff was excellent!! Very friendly & helpful. The bathtub is dangerous to stand in and take a shower. It’s very slippery, and getting out without anything other than a glass door that is bit sucre and moves is not good. My bed was made, but noticed someone else’s hair was still on the sheets with some dead insects. Last but not least, the chemical odor in the hallway is horrible. Not sure how they can’t smell that and not get sick from it."

"A quiet location, off the beaten path. If you have a car, and are looking for a place to break up a long drive, or are looking for a home base to explore the region, we highly recommend you make this your first choice. Although the bones of the manor house date back over two hundred years, you wouldn't know it, as everything is brand new and of the highest quality. The freshly baked goods in the morning were a nice surprise."
