Sunrise Alex is one of the most sensible choices in Alexandria. It is in the middle of the "Corniche" as is often referred to Al Geish East-West coastal road in Alex with good transportation to downtown or to Montazah Palace and beyond. The hotel is well maintained, and the breakfast options are plenty. Rooms are conveniently on the beach and pools, and the enclosed beach allows for good safe swimming. Like many hotels in Egypt they are relaxed about smoking and if you do not smoke you may find this a problem. The noise from the road and adjacent party venues is sometimes loud but the room insulation and placement down near the beach helps lower the noise levels. Staff are very helpful and pleasant and eager to help. Of course gratuities are always expected at any level of service.
