Around 30 miles south of Washington, the nation's capital city, is where you'll find Port Tobacco.

Take a trip back in time as you wander around the Thomas Stone National Historic Site.

A real icon in this part of the country is Verizon Center, in Washington, which is 25 miles north of Port Tobacco. It is the home of the Washington Wizards, the Washington Mystics and the Georgetown Hoyas. On match days, the stadium becomes a sea of loyal fans wearing the team colors, red, white, navy and silver.

Just 11 miles northeast of Port Tobacco is where you'll stumble upon Waldorf. This location boasts the Fort Washington Park and the National Children's Museum.

Lexington Park is roughly 35 miles to the southeast from Port Tobacco.
