Restaurants were good except the Asian.(we tried it 2x to make sure) There were no bicycles even though it was a listed amenity. Games room should be separate from the sports bar and have pinball and/or video games for the younger crowd. The pool table & foosball was coin operated so a real irritant for an all inclusive. No separate adult pool. Foam party at the activity pool was great for all ages. Pool umbrellas did not provide shade-they were very translucent. For the price point I would expect the ala cartes to have higher end food than the buffet. The ala cartes were also very noisy and seemed like cafeterias as well. Our first time staying at a Riu property and we left impressed. The staff is very friendly, beautiful beach area in front, and great value for what we paid. Restaurants were told no reservations. However you did not put your bar on the list at 6pm they would sell out for the night. We ended up not having dinner one night because of it and then leaving the resort for future meals. The worst part was how unwilling the staff was when asked if they can take a half hour brake as I was getting a heache from the loud noise so that I can leave the room, but was told that they are scheduled to work until 6pm and there is nothing they can do about it. I was not notified ahead of time of the noises and i did not feel safe during my stay. Would NOT recommend. Lots of people!! Staff for the most part excellent and friendly, only one rude matre’d at the Italian restaurant who chewed us out when their beeper failed to work! He tainted the place as far as my husband was concerned! Buffet Food was not to our liking, meat and fish always overcooked or bland!! Steakhouse ribeye good flavor, hotdogs and hamburgers at PePe’s was the best, which says a lot!!! Beach beautiful but unfortunately purple flag for dangerous wildlife (jellyfish and crocodiles) was up 6 of the 7 days we were there, so missed out on ocean swimming!! Music at pool bar great the day we arrived, then all the rest were the same boom boom repeat crap! Asked them to change and they wouldn’t/couldnt! Met many folks who return regularly here but we will not be one of them! Overall had a okay/good time! Met many wonderful people! And the food out by the pool was basic hotdog and hamburgers, I can get that where I live, when I go on vacation to another country I want the local food. All in all, we loved it! Only one issue, really. The food was awful. No matter what restaurant you went to. But the service was great. Bartenders were amazing! All the staff was awesome. The rooms were so-so. When we called customer service to replace the bottled water and coffee packages, they were delivered quite promptly. All the dining room and bar servers went out of their way to ensure we had anything we needed. On the downside, this was our second visit to this hotel and both times there were lots of issues with the elevators. We were able to use the stairs, but other people experienced long waits for service. Also, the recorded music that plays in the lobby bar area isn't very pleasant. Our previous stay was in a much more desirable room overlooking the courtyard where we could sit on the balcony and enjoy hearing the music at a pleasant volume. We enjoyed the nightly entertainments. These are informal, interactive and fun. The staff is helpful. The checkout is fast too. However I found food offerings are limited. The pool food is only hot dog and hamburgers(with starchy meat patties). There is no tacos or wings. The breakfast buffets are nice and adequate but lunch and dinner offerings are lackluster. There are only buffets for lunch and there are usually only two à la carts restaurants open every night. The food in these restaurants are also disappointing, steak we had were of cheap cut and many dishes were too salty.
