Dammuso in RagusaIbla

  • "Residenze San Paolo" is a typical Sicilian house from the 1800s, with classic stone vaults, totally renovated with modern comforts designed to meet customer needs. The style of the furniture is classic and in complete harmony with the environment. The apartment is located in the San Paolo district, one of the most characteristic and naturalistic of Ragusa Ibla, characterized by small stairways that rise towards the hill, some waterfalls and a large rock of light stone that overlooks the view. Very easy to reach, it is located at the entrance to Ibla, close to the municipal PARKING STATIONS and the center is easily accessible on foot. Description: On the ground floor there is the entrance and the first double bedroom, with internal bathroom and shower. The second room is located on the second floor, which can act as both a living room and a second bedroom thanks to a convertible sofa, with adjoining bathroom and shower. Finally, always on the second floor, there is the dining room and the kitchen, in country style and equipped with stove, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge and freezer. All rooms are air conditioned with Inverter air conditioners and the two bedrooms are equipped with a TV with USB output.

Great location!

The property was very nice, and it's a great location for visiting Ragusa--between both Ibla and Superiore. Also, with the parking right there, this made it easy for doing day trips to explore in the area, too.

We were very happy with the apartment and had a lovely stay. Gaetano is a great host and he even carried our suitcases up the stairs to the apartment. He also arranged for a cab both getting to the apartment and leaving very early in the morning for the bus station, which made things very easy for us. Ragusa being what it is, be prepared to walk lots of stairs all the time.

Apartment is as expected and fun living in a cave for a few days! Parking nearby, grocery store walkable. Location quiet but close enough to walk to restaurants and sights. Would book again.

A remarkable renovation

Gaetano has done a superb job of converting a cave into a charming and comfortable residence with modern appliances. He was almost always available and helpful when we needed him. The apartment is near to a lovely piazza/park and good restaurants. Parking was always available.The only down side is the 45 steps up to the residence - a daily challenge for older legs.

Beautiful huge place with parking right at the door and NO STAIRS!! Easy to get to and the apartment was clean with complimentary goodies! The host even came to meet us. Of the 5 rooms we rented all throughout Sicily, she was the only one that offered to greet us personally or use self check in. My friend and I were mentioning the day before how it would be nice to actually meet a host. So we chose to meet the host. The place is very clean and spacious with two washrooms and a beautiful terrace. Lots of channels on the TV and the shower is accommodating for plus size models like me. Some places had shower doors made for thin people only. The host even provided google map tips to go sightseeing which is very convenient cause Google Maps in Sicily could be a little complicated for tourists. We highly recommend and I would definitely stay here again if I’m ever in the neighborhood.

Great stay

Gaetano was very kind and thoughtful in meeting us and preparing the apartment. It was well stocked with some food and everything we would need. Great communication. Shared information on recommended attractions and restaurants. check in was easy and had available free parking around Corner.

Una bonita casa en Ragusa Ibla

La casa se encuentra al comienzo de Ibla, la parte tradicional y más turística de Ragusa, en una zona muy tranquila con fácil aparcamiento. La casa es de dos alturas con techos abovedados de piedra, común en las casas de la ciudad vieja, tal como se ve en las fotografías. Gaetano, el propietario, es super amable y servicial. Nos aconsejó sobre nuestra estancia e incluso nos acompañó a dar una vuelta por Ibla. Una estancia totalmente recomendable que esperamos poder volver a repetir.
