"The hotel appears to be made of different buildings. Because of this, it makes the hotel wonderful to explore. The breakfast is also very nice, with a wide variety offered. Two of us were there for nine days. The room we were in was very nice but a little sparse as it didn't have a place to unpack your clothes. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again."

"Good location, but bad management. Booked a 4 bed apartment, but it was not available at check in. The apartment is falling apart. The faucets come off in your hand, the doors don't close, and the shower is terrible. The staff have no training to deal with guests. The highlight was a good breakfast."

"We opted for the nicest room and recommend it if you're budget allows. The room was spacious and clean. It has its own patio and terrace. "Very clean. We loved our quiet, modern renovated room with lovely linens and a jetted bathtub. The pousada has a nice pool and deck/garden area. Its landscaping is beautiful and offers both shade and sun. The front desk (Marcia) and housekeeping staff (Rebecca) were particularly welcoming and helpful. We found the breakfast to be on the modest side. This is unfortunate because many of us are fans of the Brazilian breakfasts that tend to be so generous and interesting, i.e., fresh juices and fruits, breads, cakes and cheeses. Judging from photos on the Expedia website, Villa Alferes once had more robust offerings. Your choice will depend on how much the breakfast experience means to you. "
