"Pousada Costa Verde was a nice stay on Ilha Grande. It was very clean and well maintained (though this is because of very strict rules, so if you're intent is to party, this is not the spot for you). The manager is super nice and provides a lot of great advice based on your expectations of your trip. The pousada is off the beaten path and does not come with breakfast like other pousadas on the mainland do."

"It was a really cool place to stay. Right on their own private beach! The staff were friendly and helpful. Don’t speak English but Google translate is a blessing. We had a free breakfast and lunch which was awesome! The room had a lot of character and the kitchen and bar are open reasonably late. Wish it had an air conditioner, and our room was right by a communal area with no noise proofing. And we had to pay for the beach towels which was weird. "The Pousada looks nice and cozy at first but the rooms are more than disappointing. When entering the pousada we were offered a room with mould all over the ceiling. We immediately complained about it and were offered the room next to the previous one. This room didn‘t show mould but it was repainted only shortly before, as the smell was still in it. We arranged a fun day trip to Ilha Grande with Angra Passeios with pickup from the villa dock -- if swells are 3+ feet, ask for a stop at Praia do Pouso and it's a moderate half hour hike to lovely Lopes Mendes Beach.
