We had Room 2 in the courtyard annex. Straightforward and friendly check-in, a small and clean double room (ensuite, but no soap or shower gel, take your own!), comfortable and warm bed, tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. The only problem wasn't of the Crown's doing: it was the pub-pretending-to-be-a-nightclub opposite (it was Saturday night). The street noise itself wasn't too bad, but the thump of the music was two notches too high on the thumpometer. When you can feel the vibrations in the pub across the road, you have to wonder what the locals make of it each week. Perfectly quiet location when the nightclub finally closed. Opened a window that helped and there was a fan in the room so bearable. Had requested double but got a twin - wasn't that fussed so didn't bother asking if could change. Staff were lovely and friendly and I had one of the best evening meals I have ever had here! Great location close to the Elan valley, quirky little shops and everything you could need for a lovely night away. Downside, there is only pay and display parking a street away & breakfast is served in the bistro also a street away.
