"We loved it here. Such an amazing place. It’s remote, but the signage was good and our driver found it. Probably best to get there during the day. We took a chocolate making class and went on the night walk in the jungle. It is an eco resort, so don’t expect hot showers, which is usually a deal breaker for me. But the place was so nice we were very happy we stayed here. "

"Everything at the lodge was good but could have been great with improved communication. Our family of four arrived at the same time as a group and we were offered the options to joint their tours on an expedited schedule (four days of activities in two days). We joined them for the full day Napo tour and really enjoyed the day but we were very rushed and had no idea what activity was next. At the end of the day, the four of us were left alone at the river bank for 45 minutes waiting for he bus...

"The condo had a really nice view and was very clean. We forgot to arrange for check-in before we got there, but everything turned out fine. The location is very serene, yet just a two minute drive from the more busy part of the city. It was 95F (35C) degrees there, and the air conditioning worked very well thankfully. "

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Río Arajuno?
The best area to stay in Río Arajuno is directly within the Amazon rainforest lodges, as the town itself primarily serves as a gateway to these unique accommodations.

For travelers seeking an authentic and immersive rainforest experience, lodges situated along the Arajuno River or deeper within the Napo province offer the most direct access to nature. These lodges are typically all-inclusive, providing guided excursions such as wildlife spotting, jungle hikes, and cultural visits to indigenous communities. They are designed for those who appreciate being surrounded by nature and are looking for an extensive, educational, and comfortable stay in the Amazon.

Couples looking for a unique and memorable escape will find these lodges particularly appealing. Many offer private cabins with views of the forest, opportunities for romantic canoe trips, and a chance to disconnect from the everyday. The focus is on experiencing the rainforest together, with guided activities that enrich the journey.

Solo travelers interested in adventure and connecting with nature will also find these lodges ideal. The structured itineraries and group activities provided by the lodges offer opportunities to meet fellow travelers while exploring the Amazon's biodiversity.
When is the best time to go to Río Arajuno?
The best time to visit Río Arajuno is during the drier months, which generally run from December to February and from June to August.

These periods offer more predictable weather with less rainfall, making it easier to enjoy outdoor activities like jungle treks, river excursions, and wildlife viewing. The trails are typically less muddy, and river levels are more stable for canoe trips, providing a more comfortable and expansive experience.
