There are several rivers of varying difficulty in Tena, Ecuador. I'm not sure the name of this river, but we had all class III and IV rapids. It was a great day out -- about 4 hours to get down the river.

"The hotel is in a beautiful location and has 6 hot spring pools on site that are very enjoyable. The room was very large, with comfortable beds. The room and hotel areas (like restaurant) were very cold! Even though there was a fireplace in the room it was small and didn’t provide heat throughout our time there. "A rustic resort, this property has several amenities and programs. While most of the amenities were open air (but under cover), it wasn't as "buggy" as we were expecting. "Magical and beautiful place to spend a weekend. Super relaxing. Plenty of activities to do. Restaurant has great food. Our stay was a little expensive, but worth it. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the unpaved road to get to the Hacienda was full of holes and was very slick and dangerous. "

"My friend and I stayed at this location for a Saturday night while visiting Latacunga. The hotel is nice, but is located next to a discotec. Music from the disco could be heard clearly in our room. The music lasted until about 5AM. We were both unable to sleep. The shower had semi-hot water. For the price was paid for this, I was expecting a lot more than what we received. Definitely not going to stay here ever again."

"We loved it here. Such an amazing place. It’s remote, but the signage was good and our driver found it. Probably best to get there during the day. We took a chocolate making class and went on the night walk in the jungle. It is an eco resort, so don’t expect hot showers, which is usually a deal breaker for me. "Lovely well appointed hotel. 15 minutes from the airport with beautiful gardens and pools and jacuzzis. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. The rooms were large and clean and comfortable beds with pillow options. Alpacas roam freely in the beautiful gardens. An oasis. They made us picnic breakfasts to take away on our tours. So peaceful there. Great security too. "
