Old Country house sits on a beautiful plot of land looking out a mountain range and farm fields. Larger that what it looks from the outside. Beautiful 2nd story porch. The fire pit made the evenings very enjoyable. Everyone who came that weekend said it was the best sleep they have had in years.
My husband and I and our four young children had a blast at this property! The home has so much character and the setting is dreamy. We grilled out around the firepit and everything we needed was readily to hand. The kids particularly enjoyed wading in the creek. And it took just a pleasant country drive to get to local sights and restaurants. I was even able to get Instacart grocery deliveries! All-in-all, an idea rental & we hope to be back soon!
Wow what a place this is! Gorgeous historic home in one of the most beautiful settings ive seen. This place was perfect for my trip and even better for my dogs, lots of space inside and out and pretty secluded. Beautiful walnut trees and other hundred year old varieties. Host reached out multiple times to make sure my stay was going well and even had a complimentary bottle of wine chilled in fridge upon our arrival. We loved this place and look forward to staying when we visit the area again thank u
We stayed for a weekend and it was a great place for us to meet with family coming from different states. My son was in town playing football. The location of this house was fun as it was off the beaten path but still close enough to drive to Lexington as it was a beautiful drive. We saw deer in the field and the surrounding area and trees during the fall were stunning. The house was a great stay with four bedrooms and three full baths. The owner was very responsive and I would highly recommend this rental!
Our stay in this historic countryside farmhouse was wonderful! This old house is so charming and quirky. The house has plenty of seating, eating space, bedrooms and we loved the coffee bar setup.
The land is beautiful and so peaceful. We enjoyed walking the farm, watching the cows and listening to the stream. There is so much to do outside with the firepit area, basketball/tennis court, ladder ball, cornhole, etc. We really enjoyed our three days there.
Ian was a terrific host...responding the multiple questions before we booked, through the booking process and during our stay. He made everything very easy!
The old farmhouse has a lot of character, clearly having been added onto multiple times. While quirky inside it is a very nice accommodation with a modern kitchen and spacious bedrooms. The property was clean, well stocked with towels and had very nice linens on the beds. It was easy to find, GPS will take you right to it.We wanted a place to see the stars away from other light sources and this property delivered. It has several nice open areas around it for setting up telescopes, and the mountains around do not block very much of the horizon view. There were no lights from neighbors we could see while star watching.Lexington is a little closer than Staunton, and anything between including Natural Bridge is close enough for day outings.
Home is beautifully located in the VA mountains. Our group rented this farmhouse for a wedding weekend that was held about 30 minutes away. We found the spaces as described. We loved the front porch and enjoyed our morning coffee there.
We did not like finding open food in the refrigerator - that is a big turnoff for us as renters. Lots of personal items in the bathrooms and drawers in the kitchen filled with junk. Found an old vacuum cleaner just sitting in one of the bathrooms. Multiple air purifiers were running when we arrived.
Great getaway to a remote mountain setting. Relaxed environment in renovated farmhouse. Loved the front porch on the first floor and the screened porch on the second floor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and serene and the house was beautifully decorated and well stocked. Our host, Ian, reached out to us several times during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be repeat guests.
Lovely spacious beautifully decorated 1800’s farmhouse. Two sitting rooms, large dining room and large eat in kitchen. I took photos of the wall decor for my sister - very colonial antique designs. Quite far from towns and restaurants so we ate in most evenings.
