Book Saint-Paul Bed & Breakfast

"This is an absolutely stunning property set alongside the beautiful setting of the River Garonde and slightly out from the busy city of Bordeaux (approx 15 mins by car). The large room (#10) looked onto the river at the back of the property and had a very large walk-in shower and a bath, 2 sinks and separate toilet room. Slippers and dressing gowns were provided. Very comfortale bed. Breakfast was lovely, although a little overpriced at 22€ per person. Having been in touch with the property prior to arrival about dietary requirements, they were able to cater for that for me. Unlimited tea, coffee, hot chocolate was available. Wine by the glass from a machine added to your tab and payable at the end of your stay. Pool was perfect, and there was also a sauna next to the pool. Poolside towels were provided. The 'menu' available is more q snack menu but delicious. The one downside for you to be aware of with booking through Expedia if you choose the option to pay at the property, they required a pre-authorisation check before arrival, which actually took full payment albeit showing as a pending payment. Upon departure, the property insisted we had to pay the amount again, so in theory paying twice at that point. A week after our stay, we still hadn't received a refund contrary to what we were told, so I again requested a cancellation of the pre-authorisation payment from the property directly and finally got the pending payment money back. Fantastic stay all in all. Will return."

"Although we checked in online, we had to spend time at the front desk answering all kinds of useless questions. Key was inactivated at some point, did not get an explanation as to why, only that it could have been "demagnetized".. "

"The hotel main reception and bar area is nice, with modern decor. The staff were also very friendly. The room had nice decor and very spacious and there was minimal noise from other guests. It was excellent that the hotel has a water tap offering filtered water (including sparkling) to refill. The only minor issue was the shower head did not work properly as half of the nozzles appeared to be blocked. Also, we got to our room and 10 minutes later the service maids were knocking on seeing if we needed the room clean which I thought was strange & even with the do not disturb sign they knocked on. The property is conveniently located with a tram stop right across the road. The tram journey towards central takes 20-30 mins depending on where you get off so easy. Although, going to the centre it begins quiet but more towards the centre it can get very busy and on the way back can also be standing room only. The hotel is also right near the lake and it is a nice walk around the lake. "

"In the past 12 months we’ve stayed in some 30 hotels from Australia to the UK, France and The Netherlands and this would have to be one of the best!! Our room was really well thought out and obviously designed to make one’s stay as easy and pleasurable as possible. It featured a compact kitchenette with a good sized fridge with a freezer section, a fold down table that was easily big enough for 2 c/w 2 folding chairs that can be stowed in the robe, plus 2 comfortable armchairs and a good size coffee table. Bathroom included a heated towel rail which comes in very handy when like us, you’re on the road for several months and need to wash some smalls. Staff were absolutely fantastic and most helpful. The only downside was the restaurant isn’t open for dinner at the weekend and the menu is limited, mainly to pizzas!! "

"I stayed at Appart Hôtel Mer & Golf City Bordeaux Bruges for 16 days while recovering from surgery, and I really enjoyed the stay. The pond/lake behind the hotel is really just lovely to walk around and I enjoyed the ducks, turtles and beavers there! There is also a grocery store in the same parking a lot, which was extremely convenient. There's also a tram station a 5-10 minute walk away, which was also very convenient. The kitchenette in the room was a little more spacious than other hotels and completely met my needs. My fridge whined at first but they quickly swapped it out for another one and I had no further issues. The room was clean and its condition was pretty good. Housekeeping came by daily to take out the garbage and change towels if needed, and changed sheets and did a more thorough cleaning when I asked (just once for my stay). The staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Overall I became very fond of the place and was a little sad to leave."

"It is a little far from the center of the city, but there is transportation, but if you want walking distance to the center of the city not really the option, however it f you have a car there is no problem, besides that everything will s good "

"The area is really only good if you want to be near the convention centre. There's a bunch of hotels out this way that presumably exist solely for the convention centre. The area is not picturesque by any means. Having said that - if you want to be in this area, this is a good little hotel. Not luxurious but the rooms are comfortable. it's nice and quiet and dark at night if you close the blinds. I slept well here, despite my room being near the kitchen. If you're a light sleeper like me then I can recommend it. The staff are extremely helpful. Everyone I spoke to spoke English (some really well, others just enough). Only complaint is there is no fridge in the hotel room."
