The staff at Tierra Viva, all of them, made my family and I feel at home, they were super attentive, respectful and accommodating and we were extremely grateful. The food is good and Frank makes the best drinks, great location. Great experience every time. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Trujillo.

Location amenities and staff. Room cleaning is not that good.

The onsite restaurant and bar were excellent, and the staff was consistently friendly and accommodating. The hotel’s location is not particularly walkable; however, transportation by car was easy and readily available. The room itself left something to be desired, particularly the bathroom. We experienced multiple issues with the toilet, even after maintenance attempted to resolve the problem. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but the ongoing bathroom issues were disappointing and detracted from the experience.

I liked the hotel and the rooms; it was affordable. However, I didn’t like the way the lady at the reception talked to me like she was the owner of that place. Please train your staff in customer service. Also, she refused to accept my U.S. passport, and I had to pay taxes for my stay, even though I told them my entry date to Peru. Their excuse was that it’s because I’m Peruvian. I am both Peruvian and American, I have dual citizenship and live in the U.S. I’ve never had these problems with Costa del Sol or any other hotel in Peru.
