"I think management needs to inform staff to be more informative with guest No one told us how to get beach towels, coffee machine did not work, WI FI no info, basically I feel that staff was very helpful once you asked for items. The issue is most hotels provide basic info upfront and have signage to inform guests. Management needs to be better. I feel that the highlight is the beach and that is the only reason I would go back to this hotel."

"The day before ous stay we were informed that they had no room for us the first day. The alternative they offered was not an option in any way. The staff at the hotel was most friendly, but how this was managed is not nice on a planned vacation. Moscitos in and outside the room in the bottom of the building, a bit damp and not easy to sleep when the aircondition didnt work one night, but the outside garden was wonderful. Amazing breakfast, great poolarea. The charge of the minibar at the bill of...

Top San Simone Hotel Reviews

Lùmia Lecce - Urban Residence

10/10 Excellent

"Great location, big space. Few extra amenities like a toaster and microwave would be useful but would definitely stay here again. Many thanks"

Le Dune Suite Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Location, location , location, the Dune suite hotel is perfectly located in Porto Cesareo, about 3-4 km from the historical center with many good restaurants. Most importantly this hotel has a beautiful beach across the street, on the Ionian sea, 24 Celsius and calm 10/10 for the first week of October. At this period 2 transats and a parasol are complimentary. There is a nice bar and an evening restaurant plus takeout counters for lunch that you can eat at the beach. The rooftop pool setup of the hotel is very nice with lounge furniture and a perfect view of the sunset! Breakfast is absolutely complete and delicious. Would recommend without any doubt."

Masseria Stali, The Originals Relais

10/10 Excellent

"It is an excellent place to stay. Comfortable room, great staff and most of all amazing breakfast! During our trip to Puglia we stayed in 4 hotels and this Masseria had one of the two best breakfasts (but the other hotel cost 3.5 times more, so it is even better for Masseria Stali). Lots of space outdoors for our kid and dog. Easy parking and easy to drive to."

Masseria Donna Menga

10/10 Excellent

"We absolutely loved our stay at Masseria Donna Menga. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place. The gardens and pool area are stunning, the rooms are lovely and the service was excellent. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming! Everything was just perfect, and we would happily come back!"

Corte dei Francesi

10/10 Excellent

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in San Simone?

The best area to stay in San Simone is within the historic center, particularly around Piazza San Simone, for its traditional Apulian experience.

This area is the heart of San Simone, characterized by its narrow, winding streets, whitewashed buildings, and a slower pace of life. The Piazza San Simone is the central gathering point, often hosting local events and providing easy access to small, family-run eateries and artisan shops. Staying here offers a chance to experience the local culture firsthand. Couples will appreciate the romantic setting of the historic center, with opportunities for quiet strolls and intimate dinners.

For those seeking more space and amenities, especially families, the areas just outside the historic core offer villas and guesthouses with private gardens and pools. These accommodations provide a relaxing retreat while still being a short walk or drive from the village center and its conveniences.

When is the best time to go to San Simone?

The best time to go to San Simone, Puglia, is during the shoulder seasons of May-June and September-October for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

May and June offer warm, sunny days great for exploring the countryside and enjoying the coastline before the peak summer heat. The sea is warming up, making it suitable for swimming, and the olive groves and vineyards are lush. This period is ideal for couples looking for a relaxed trip with opportunities for outdoor activities and wine tasting.

September and October provide a similar experience with comfortable temperatures, making it a great time for food and wine enthusiasts. The grape harvest is often underway, and local festivals celebrate the region's produce.
