"We wanted at least a solid day to relax in a smaller town away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the bigger Italian cities that we would also be visiting! I wanted to meet and experience locals who actually lived a quieter, more relaxed Italian lifestyle! I got what I wanted here! The Cottage B&B is not big city “fancy,” but it was very clean, the host was very friendly and helpful, the little outside patio was great for reading and relaxing, and the little neighborhood village square of Monticcio was a super easy, very close and flat walk from the Cottage B&B! In our mid 70’s, we weren’t sure how we would actually be able to navigate the area which is located high up in the hills! The neighborhood square of Monticcio turned out to be no more than an easy 5 minute walk, and lead us to some good gelato, and several options for local restaurants. In fact, we ate twice at what might have been our favorite restaurant on this trip, Yago! And to find a restaurant of this quality in this quiet, little town, was a such an amazing surprise! We navigated this trip to Italy without renting a car, and stayed here for just 2 nights at the tail end of our trip, so I cannot review how this location would work as a base for actually exploring the Sorrento and Amalfi area, but we certainly enjoyed our stay at IL Cottage B& B given the goal we had set for enjoying a quiet, relaxing respite before we headed home! "The place was amazing with amazing views of Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. The staff were super helpful with all the questions we had about what to do around the area. We loved the town of Pontone near by. I can’t emphasize enough how awesome the staff was!"

"The staff at Maison Cipriani were exceptional; and worth personally mentioning; Marika. Prior to our stay, she supplied us with extensive information about the area, local attractions and transport links, whilst during our stay she assisted with our delayed baggage. Nothing seemed too much for them to handle. The room itself had a lovely balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples. Whilst the weather was on the drearier side during out stay, when you saw got a glimpse of the bay, it was truly magnificent. The room was amply supplied with dishes, towels and all amenities required for a great stay; and some of the best food in sorrento was available locally. I would add that whilst this is not a reflection on the host or hotel; the public transport links could be confusing, with some inconsistency between bus times displayed on local timetables, google and the official transport providers website; amongst discrepancy on where to buy tickets (some drivers directed you to purchase tickets from local shops and some let you pay on the bus) Thoroughly recommend staying at Maison Cipriani and we surely will again! Albeit it, we’ll rent a car next time :) "

"My stay was amazing! The check in was perfect, the service was impeccable and the location was central to day trips up Almafi and quick access to Sorrento. If you are driving around town, check your route. I used GPS and it sent me down a traverse and it was narrow even for Italy and had traffic in both directions. I scratched my car. There is an alternate route into Sorrento that is equal travel time. Nothing to do with hotel but worth noting. "

"Great location if you do not mind taking bus and doing a little walking. Easy access to Sorrento. If going to Positano take the ferry from Sorrento; the bus ride is long to Positano and can easily cause motion sickness. The best part of the trip was hiking down to free beach at Fiordo di Crapolla. You must be fit to do it but the rewards at the bottom, chrystal clear water, high cliffs and lots of sea glass and very few people make it worth the trip."
