"We had a wonderful stay. The room was spotless, comfortable and well maintained, with a beautiful view of the sea and beach. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive and always ready to help. The location was excellent, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"

"I had a great trip to this hotel. The staff were great and the rooms and balconies were spacious and very clean. Food was delicious and despite hotel being full there were no queues for food and it was always plentiful. Only think I wasn’t impressed with was the evening entertainment but it wouldn’t put me off returning."

"I would say the amenities were good and the breakfast was delicious. Overall a pleasant hotel House keeping were friendly however I feel like the front of house staff could be more attentive and welcoming. For the price I paid I feel like I should have got better service. For example, when asking for water for my room it felt like I was asking for too much. They also don’t take your luggage to your room when checking and downstairs when checking out - For a 5 star hotel, that’s the least I would expect."

"This hotel is incredible. We didn't mind at all that it wasn't renovated. It was part of the charm. It was very clean. The breakfast was good, the staff was so nice. The pool is outstanding. The staff kindly gave us a balcony room on the end on the first floor which was sooo lovely. However, the only thing that would make me rethink staying here are the beds. They are hard. I read this before staying and thought it was an exaggeration. However, it is not. Also, the AC was loud at higher setting. I also wish the beach had lounge chairs. We ended up going to the neighboring beach Praia do Pintadinho (amazing!). We booked the hotel because of access to beach The short walk to it though- is wonderful. They go to considerable trouble to make this a special place which it is. Upgrading the beds would make it the ideal place - despite beach & AC. We would have stayed longer and absolutely return again if they just improved beds, Everything else was perfect. As an aside, it was an easy walk to other beaches and fantastic restaurants. Uber wasn't always reliable for longer distances (when went to Marina for a boat trip with friends) but the hotel can call a cab. I recommend arranging it ahead if you're going longer distances. Muito Obrigada to the lovely staff!"

"Excellent Family holiday staying at Penina. Relaxing hotel with friendly helpful staff. Warm welcome on arrival with a glass of port and overview of the hotel. Really nice way to start our stay. Great facilities for kids and adults with tennis courts, jogging track, driving range, golf courses, large pool and multiple dining options. Played Championship course twice and enjoyed - greens, tees and fairways all in good order and great value for money. My son and I also had excellent golf lessons with Jose Lourenco - knowledgeable, friendly, genuine passion for what he does. All golf staff were excellent, really welcoming and friendly. Special shout out to Sandra, Carlos and Vasco. Excellent breakfast buffet and omelette station, the Italian restaurant, Cotton Clubhouse bar and the pool bar all good too. In all areas the service was very good and were brilliant with my sons (11 and 5) Great bonus having access to the Dunas beach club at Alvor beach with 50% discount on sun loungers and umbrella ( €10 for 1/2 day) and free towels, private beach bar also excellent. Easy 10 minute commute to Alvor, which is a really nice coastal town with cobbled streets, and an excellent range of restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the area due to facilities, service and easy commute to Alvor. Thank you all at Penina!"
