I've never had to change my room the first night because of a BARKING DOG IN A ROOM a few doors down.
Shortly after we checked in, we heard a dog barking loudly a few doors down. We reported it to the front desk before going to dinner. After dinner, in our room, this same dog started barking VERY LOUDLY again. After about 10 minutes of this I went out into the hall. The people who were in the room next door to the barking dog were going into their room. I asked them if it was bothering them (how could it not?) and they were very upset. I told them I was going to change rooms. They told me they were going to as well.
I called the front desk. I was told they were sending maintenance people up. They agreed that this wasn't acceptable. They gave me another room and late in the evening we were forced to pack up and move to another part of the hotel. I didn't want to move, but we felt we had no choice as the hotel wasn't doing anything about the dog barking. We really didn't want it to happen later when we went to sleep and didn't trust the hotel to remedy the situation.
The morning of our last day, I asked the woman who was outside our room with the cart if she'd make it up and change our towels. She said she would but when we came back it was untouched.
The morning after we changed rooms, we heard this same dog barking again, loudly.
One of the desk clerks, Jessica, was excellent and really cared. This was one of the worst experiences I ever had at a hotel.
