Perched above the Ranch is the warm and inviting Ranch House. The grand residence is designed with entertaining in mind! 4,500 square feet of open-concept living boasts a professional chef’s kitchen, a grand piano, a wraparound porch, multiple outdoor entertaining areas, and a beautiful pool and spa that overlooks the property. High end finishes and touches throughout, like John Robshaw textiles and Jerry Scott original paintings set this property apart.

Every room in the house has sweeping views that are sure to be the perfect backdrop for memories yet to come. With four cozy and comfortable bedrooms, a grand living room accentuated by a floor to ceiling stone fireplace and a spacious family room/loft, Riata Ranch offers the perfect gathering space for friends and family.

From the moment you enter in the front gates you will know you just found your home away from home. Easy day trips from the Ranch House are Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, Big Sur, and Paso Robles and Edna Valley Wine Country.

Looking for a place to host your special event? We also offer multiple locations for events, large or small, for an additional fee. From wide open spaces dappled with ancient oak trees to specialty tent tipis that offer a fun and festive atmosphere that you won't find anywhere else. Extraordinary Place
We loved our 3 nights at the ranch and only wish it could have been a full week. We had a dinner event while we were there and everybody was responsive and helpful with all the many many details we needed to take care of. Be aware the caretaker has dogs and they will be at the place. We love dogs and it wasn't a big deal, we just asked him to keep them in during our party and he complied. House could use better cookware (it has everything, the pans were just low quality) Overall, this place is amazing and I can't say enough good about it.

Precious Family Time
Had an incredible weekend staying at the Riata Ranch. Staying at a beautiful location was a fantastic way to get the family to make a trip together. The wrap around porch and outdoor seating is set up so that the group could come together for activities... but also have private time to read a book or just get away from the hustle. Pool and outdoor set up is perfect for family fun and BBQs. Outdoor seating is perfect to take in the gorgeous view of the ranch. Absolutely a 5 star stay.

So great we came again!
This is our second visit and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The house is so well maintained and updated. It’s thoughtfully done and they make changes to suit people renting. We were traveling with grandparents, and children and it met the needs of everyone. We regularly say we should get the blueprints for the house because it’s so perfect. The area around is very family friendly. Went zip lining and horse back riding with 6-10 year olds, and to the beach for the day. We also just hung out at the pool and enjoyed the view. We’re already talking about when we can come back. You cannot go wrong staying here!

Paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed our second family vacation at Riata Ranch and we will most definitely be back! The house is comfortable and spacious, remarkably clean and the addition of the bed in the 2nd downstairs master, was a huge bonus for our family this year! We had a few beautiful, sunny days, but even the couple of cloudy ones, made for some cozy time by the wood burning fire and fun game/movie nights in our pajamas. The house is light and bright, the wraparound decks are incredibly comfortable and provide many opportunities to sit and relax. It’s only about 20 minutes to downtown SLO where we had a few delicious dinners, but our favorite meals were made in the well stocked kitchen and shared around the dining room table! There is a fantastic laundry room upstairs with such a great washer/dryer set, I ended up buying the same models for my home after our stay last year. Alex is helpful and attentive and is super quick to respond to messages. We could not have enjoyed our time here more … everything was perfection and we are already putting our schedules together and planning another trip back.

Gem of a Ranch
Wonderful location, sandwiched in a valley between Paso Robles and SLO. Easy access to everything. Our weather was not great, but the property and house provided many opportunities for fun activities. The pool will be great when the weather gets better, but the hot tub and sauna kept us warm on cool evenings.

Amazing views, amazing property
We were on our fall moms getaway trip and this property hit so many of our checkboxes. Alex, was super communicative and quick to respond, and while we hit a few minor snafus during our stay (leaking dishwasher and running out of propane for the fire table), it was a fast response. The property was spotless and had so many gathering spaces, indoor and out. We also had a team of massage therapists out from Avila Beach Massage set up on the wraparound deck in the morning, which was a perfect setup for our group, and that felt absolutely luxurious. Highly recommend this place for true relaxation!! Thank you Alex!

An Amazing Place!
This is truly a spectacular property. It's almost jaw-dropping when you first enter the massive grounds, drive up the long access road, and then enter the house. What a peaceful and beautiful setting! The house has an inviting open layout and high ceilings that maximize the stunning views. The wrap around porch and other outside amenities provide guests with several 'meeting spots.' There's an outdoor dining table, outdoor bar area with barbeque, outdoor seating area around a gas fire pit, chez lounge chairs, Adirondack chairs, a ping pong table, etc. Plenty of comfortable and unique spots for different groups to hang out or for the whole group to congregate! I also wanted to mention how incredibly well-maintained this property is. The outdoor grounds are beautifully landscaped. All the electronics, lights, fixtures, kitchen stuff-- everything--worked! Lights are labelled so you don't have to guess which is which. The kitchen has all the amenities needed for cooking good-sized meals, which I'd recommend because you don't want to leave! I could go on and on and on! Because it's a working ranch, you get a special addition of having animals around. We were visited now and then by two very sweet dogs, and had a group of horses come by and say hi in the late afternoon behind the fence near the pool. Those special encounters added to a very special stay. If it's not clear by now, I highly recommend a stay a the Riata Ranch!

Incredible place to relax with a large group. House is situated so there are many different seating areas. This allows for a large group to still feel like they can get away to nap, read a book, have a private conversation, etc. and then come back together around meal time. Great layout of rooms and bathrooms to give privacy. Kitchen and outdoor seating were perfect for cooking and eating large family meals.

The house is unbelievable. The ranch is beautiful and so peaceful, great views from everywhere. The outdoor space was perfect, we spent nearly all of our time outside, in the pool, grilling out, by the fire pit in the evenings. The host Alex was very responsive to all the questions we had, the house was immaculate when we arrived. We cannot wait to do it again.

Perfect family get-away!
We were a group of 8 family members (aged 19 - 83) from 3 different states looking for a week's get-away. Riata Ranch was the perfect place for us, and it exceeded our expectations. The home is beautiful and comfortable and the grounds are impeccable. So peaceful and isolated, and yet a short drive to many great wineries and restaurants in both Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. Everyone enjoyed the pool during the day and hot tub and fire pit at night. We definitely plan a return trip!

What a wonderful stay! Our whole family had a great time. All 11 of use had our own private space. The kitchen had so much space we could be in there at once. The stove was great , we loved the warming oven. One suggestion is to add a drying rack. It was a well planned kitchen. Since we prepared all our meals at the Ranch. We used the pool and the spa every day and at night in the full moon. We really enjoyed the seating all around the house. The ranch manager was very helpful & responded to our concerns in a timely manner. It was a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Can’t wait to return!

The Absolute Best!
Even the knives are sharp! If you've rented homes, you know there are never sharp knives. This is the first house I've stayed in where the attention to detail is impeccable. We have stayed in homes all over the world, and this has been by far my favorite. The house is immaculate, clearly well taken care of, and everything is thoughtfully done. Pros: -Very clean -The best-stocked kitchen I've come across, I brought a cast iron pot to bake bread, didn't need it; they had one. -The outside areas are amazing-there are places to sit upon places to sit, and they're all comfortable -The layout is great for spending with family. We used the upstairs for the kids to play and the downstairs for the adults but we weren't too far from them and could hear them. (9 year old, 6 year old, 5 year old, and 8 month old). -Had all the baby stuff we needed -The views are incredible--make sure you take the time to sit outside and see the stars (there were no mosquitoes!!) -The pool was awesome. It's heated, and you can control everything from music to lights from a device. -The entire property (wedding venue area), roads, gates, etc are really well maintained -So fun to see the animals; this made my kids' day -Master bedroom downstairs, which was great for my older parents -Very responsive hosts; we had a couple of issues (mainly just questions, they helped right away) -The deck, I could talk about the deck for days, so many places to sit and enjoy the property -Overall, it was just perfect. Things to know: -This is a working ranch (awesome!) There are animals, including working dogs. If you aren't into animals, not your place. If my kids could have taken the dogs home, they would have. -Two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. -There's a sitting room downstairs where the couch turns into a bed and has a full bathroom as well. -If people are sleeping on the pull-out couches upstairs, they'll hear anyone who is up downstairs. Our kids were going to sleep there, but we're up early and would have woken them. Not a big deal; just put early risers on the couches if you have that many people. -Stick to the roads--there are trails, but again, it's a working ranch, so the trails are for the property owners to get around, so if you're out walking and such, we were asked to stick to the road (great place to walk in the morning). -Do day trips-Pismo ATVing, zip lining, SLO, Paso wineries, Santa Margarita wineries, beach
