Hotel Barcelo Huatulco provided us with a good stay. It’s an all-inclusive resort so having experiences with Riu and Park Royal hotels I wasn’t too sure as to what to expect. They handle their guests in a very similar fashion as Park Royal. They provide different bracelet colors to guests and that will tell the staff the level of care, or amenities they’re entitled to. Fortunately, I had booked premium services, (without me knowing) which meant gold bracelet and at least I was able to get decent tequila instead of the cheap ones served to people with other bracelet colors. Food is average, decent, good. My favorite restaurant was the Mexican, Agave. Tia Rosa is the buffet restaurant which is where we had breakfast. And their Japanese restaurant is so small that is totally booked by 9:05am, as they take reservations to their main restaurants from 9 to 5. I believe I was told they only have 5 tables available. And needless to say never got to try it. Only the early risers did. The Italian restaurant didn’t make the cut for me, nor the staff. They took forever to take of us even though that night the restaurant was almost empty. The food was ok, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there twice. In general, the staff is helpful, but they don’t go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. They do their job to the best of their ability and that’s about it. I had booked three months in advanced and asked for a king size. didn't get it. This review is incomplete.

It is hard to make a comment, but I told receptionist that I and my wife have bad knees and she send to the last room in 4 th floor far away from elevator. So don’t have any send to completing. Them only obey instructions so???

Nice property in a great location. Food was a bit underwhelming but the staff and service were outstanding. Food was good enough but skip the sushi. Not a fan of the pool being a day club with music playing all day. Would return for the location and service.
