Santa Rita Vacations
While it may be a temptation to limit yourself to just the local sights while visiting Santa Rita, keep in mind that the surrounding region's treasure-trove of scenic and cultural delights lie just beyond your doorstep. While you are in the Northern Plains area, don't miss Sarapiqui. It's approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) from Santa Rita and features the San Agustin Church and Mini Zoo and Jardin Yori. Another choice is to head to Heredia. It is 15 miles (24 kilometers) from Santa Rita and is home to the Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo and Palace of Sports (Palacio de los Deportes).
Around 15 miles (24 kilometers) to the west of Santa Rita is Alajuela, a regional city where you go see Zoo Ave, Estadio Alejandro Morera Soto and Central Park. If you're looking for more, check out Parque Nacional Juan Castro Blanco and ARA Project before you head back to Santa Rita.
When the weather's great, why not take the opportunity to discover Northern Plains' open-air markets?.
The Northern Plains area provides a number of relaxing avenues to experience the region's wide open spaces, such as shore fishing and wildlife watching.
When it is time to depart Santa Rita, put the lens cap back on your camera, spend your last of your colones on last-minute souvenirs, and bid Adiós (farewell) to this special place.
