"The air was very damp and smelled like mold. There was indeed some black mold on the shower curtain and on the window curtain. Everything felt slightly damp in the room including our pillows. It was therefore extremely uncomfortable and hard to sleep. We woke up in the morning feeling nausea presumably because of the disgusting air. "The wifi didn't reach our room which was challenging at the end of a long day to have to go to the lobby to use phones/do communication for the next day. The rooms were clean but small. The lobby area smelled musty. But a nice location, easy to walk in the town and to the ferry. Breakfast was good but what we learned to be a pretty standard breakfast for the Azores."

"Staff was amazing, they stayed open to help us check in late after our flights were impacted due to weather. The place is spotless and smells incredible. We didn’t get to try dinner at the restaurant as it was closed for a celebration holiday on Monday but the breakfast was delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, a little bit outside of The main town but close to hiking vineyards and the ocean. Bonus is Noah, the cat who visits outside and came to hang out with us for awhile (he’s super loving and friendly). We absolutely loved our stay here and in Pico"

"For a hostel experience this place was outstanding. Clean, everything like brand new, good check-in experience, communication responsive, and centrally located. On a bus route, tho' I recommend renting a car if possible as everything on Pico Is. is more accessible if you have your own transportation. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone! especially solo travelers like myself."
