Tucked away on Tattnall Street, Whippet house is a two-bedroom Savannah gem. Guests will enjoy the short walk to downtown's center, while having a private retreat in one of the city's oldest residential neighborhoods.

You’ll find the living room appointed with an eclectic yet warm collection of furnishings and decor from the owners' international travels. A formal dining room connects the front of house with the cheery kitchen, equipped with modern appliances and cookware for all your dine-in needs. Off the back of the home, you’ll find a private courtyard that comfortably seats four.

Both bedrooms are upstairs, each with their own full baths. The first bedroom has a Queen size bed and antique writing desk, while the second bedroom mirrors the first but with a King size bed and excellent views of historic Tattnall Street. With windows on either side of the home, Whippet House receives ample natural light during the day. Shutters and window treatments ensure privacy when wanted.

One block north lands you in Chatham Square, one of Savannah's gorgeous green spaces. Head east two blocks to historic Forsyth Park, known for its famous fountain and a popular location for weddings. Enjoy a liege waffle and latte at Mirabelle Cafe, before touring the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, located right across the street. Broughton Street, a hub of Savannah’s shopping, and River Street are only 10-15 minutes north from there, respectively.

Nice location to enjoy Savannah

The property was great for two couples enjoying Savannah for the weekend. The location was convenient and we enjoyed sitting out on the back patio once it finally cooled off.

Great location and beautiful home

We stayed in Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. This beautiful home was conveniently located to all venues and close to Forsyth Park which was beautiful. I took my dog and had great green space to walk her several times a day. The house is nicely decorated, everything you need is there and beds are comfortable. We’ll definitely be back. Great host, who communicates well.

Beautiful Savannah

Our visit to Savannah was terrific due to our outstanding accommodations at the Whippet House. The house is quiet, clean, and beautiful, and the artwork is phenomenal. The home is located close to public transportation, so we did not do much driving once we arrived. The kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed, and we appreciated having laundry facilities and off-street parking. We highly recommend staying when visiting beautiful Savannah!

Perfect location

I looked at several properties before booking this one. The property was nice. Nice historic feel with modern amenities. It was perfect location to walk around the historic district. It was also great having the parking space in the back. We rented a mid size car and it fit perfectly. It would be tricky with a bigger vehicle. Would definitely stay at this rental again.

Great location; nice property

Stayed here three nights. All areas very clean. Tastefully decorated. A short 5 minute walk to Forsyth Park. About 25 minute walk to the Riverfront. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. Comfortable bed. Strong showers. SNAFU on check in with door code. This was rectified more or less quickly but after a stressful 6 hour drive, it took the J out of the Joy for our arrival in Savannah.

Savannah Sisters Trip - The Whippet House

We really enjoyed our stay at The Whippet House. The property was very comfortable, extremely clean, beautifully furnished, spacious with very nice amenities and in a great location for walking to local destinations with easy access to highways for several day trips outside of Savannah. It was actually easier to walk to local attractions in Savannah from the property instead of driving because parking can be difficult. There is a parking spot behind the property which was a big plus. We did day trips to Tybee Island, Hilton Head, Charleston and Beaufort along with exploring Savannah. We enjoyed our stay here and would absolutely recommend this property.

It Was Just OK

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two couples traveling with two dogs. We rented this property due to its location, which was very good, and the fact that it accepted dogs. The property would benefit greatly from a thorough overall deep cleaning - when wiping up small spills on the floors the cloth came away black, the bath tubs and shower curtains were truly disgusting, sinks were dingy - and a freshening up. Items mentioned months ago by guests still not addressed - the rails in the refrigerator are still broken, the dishwasher door still free falls open.

The location alone is worth a an excellent rating - right in the middle of the historic district, with cobblestone streets lined with live oak heavy with spanish moss. You feel like you've gone back in time. The house is within walking distance of all restaurants and activities. My dogs love walking in Forsyth Park and it was a great way to start each day. The house is cozy and so comfortable and stocked with everything you could want. Parking on the street is a breeze and there is an assigned parking space at the back. We had a "personal challenge" during our stay and the people at Lucky Savannah - Zack, Kendall and an amazing maintenance crew - could not have been more understanding, prompt and professional. I cannot say enough about the Whippet House, the location and Lucky Savannah. Highly recommend it and we will be back next year.
