Be aware of driving to the property that you turn immediately after the barn! There are big ruts in the road so a four wheel is helpful. Definitely not a low riding car. The lighting was not good at all inside the cabin or outside. There was no cellphone service nor WiFi signal which was a concern. We were unable to plan to visit any local attractions because of not having signal. There was heavy mold in the shower and on walls in the bathroom on the first floor (I took pictures, because it was a concern.) The towels felt like they had been line dried and were tough and scratchy. You could not get to the river as the picture indicates you can. Kitchen was very scares on tools and utensils making it hard to actually prepare/eat meals. Absolutely no extra linens. No extra blankets to snuggle on couch with or even to throw on the bed on cooler nights. Bed offered a sheet and thin comforter. No extra pillows either. The bed was comfortable and both bathrooms clean and functioning. Kitchen had ample room and was well-furnished for our needs, to include a coffee pot! The hot tub on the deck was a welcome way to relax after walking and exploring both the attractions of Gatlinburg and the nearby National Parks. Although we didn't have time to enjoy the fireplace, it was also clean and looked like it would help warm the cabin and make it even more cozy. Parking is a little tight, since you share a one-lane gravel driveway with another cabin 30' away, but you can still get two small to medium-sized vehicle parked if needed. Overall it was a very nice stay, there is no wifi at this cabin and you definitely need it. Absolutely no service but it does say in the listing no wifi, my mother in law booked this cabin as a wedding present for us. The water pressure in the upstairs bathtub is not very good but we just got back in the hot tub. There are these plastic pieces and on the inside of the hot tub closer to the top where you get in and it tore up my husband leg. He has a BAD cut and a huge bruise from whatever those hard plastic pieces are for. If you have small children I suggest helping in and out, my husband is 24 and this bruise is about 3-4 inches in width and length. It messed him up bad!! The only thing I didn’t like at all is there is another cabin RIGHT beside the River Romp, I read over the listing and I didn’t see anything about there being another cabin so close, the guests never bothered us but if I had known that I probably would have picked a different location. If your wanting a really pretty mountain view I suggest a different location, the view from the River Romp is pretty but mostly trees. You are close to a road, you can see cars pass but they can’t see you and when inside you can’t hear any cars passing. Hearing the water flow from the Little Pigeon River is nice! As far as cleanliness, it could have been more clean. There was a long black hair in the shower upon arrival (I have light brown hair). There was dust here and there which is understandable but other than that just the common build up in/on items. The screen on the screen door going out to the back porch is broken so you can’t leave the back door open because of stuff flying in. But like I said, overall very happy. Great place to stay for a weekend getaway or short vacation. Really was impressed with how clean everything was and the presentation of the whole lodge, downside was the main bathroom needs some updating due to the shower leaking but was managable. Location was hard to locate with GPS but staff was very helpful when we called ahead. No phone service in the area and cabin has no wifi but we were able to really enjoy the nature with the hot tub and beautiful scenery, the sounds of the river flowing and nature all around was exactly what we needed for our trip away. Perfect location close to the national park and all activities with a short drive and far enough away from all the traffic.
