Needed a two night stay to visit family in the area. The staff is phenomenal. The biggest reason for my review is to announce that I appreciated them greatly. Super friendly, good conversation and patient. My husband, two children and I fit comfortably in the two queen bed room. My mother had to purchase her own room due to fire safety (completely understandable). We swam in the pool the first night but did not stay in long due to an overwhelming smell. A chemical, pungent odor is how I can describe it. Not terrible, but not my favorite. Hot tub did not look like it was bubbly and worth getting into. Super quiet atmosphere. My husband had an eerie feeling. It didn’t bother me. While the rooms were neat and made up, I did not feel clean sleeping there. The blankets felt scratchy so I would suggest bringing your own. But it had amenities that others did not have in the area. The outdoors are beautiful there! There are picnic tables in the back to have lunch and what not.

It seemed to be an older hotel but he rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The staff was nice, the wifi was fast, and everything had been cleaned very well when we arrived, but by the end of our five-day stay, there was a lot of black mold growing on the walls (and even in the toilet bowl). There was no fan in the bathroom, and it was so humid that our towels didn't dry at all (like, wet towels to dry off on following the first use). Even our clothes and papers felt damp by the third day. This feels like a pretty serious health hazard for folks who are sensitive to mold, and it can't be good for anyone, really.

Black mold in the shower, on the walls and shower upper area. Sink plugged up and wouldn’t drain. Had to ask at front desk for clean towels as needed. Carpet in room had not been vacuumed anytime recently found plastic tag retainers on the carpet. Terrible “FREE BREAKFAST ITEMS”. Air conditioner housing rattling when a/c was running. As positive notes: easy check in, Room was quiet.

I love the overall look of the entire property. It has a very appealing aesthetic. The room was comfortable and inviting, definitely one of the best options in the area. The only thing that was a very minor inconvenience was the TV was not a smart TV other than that, this was great.

Note: No elevator. You’ll be carrying your baggage up to 2nd floor. Breakfast was lacking any low carb/low sugar options. Basically waffles toast and yogurt. The clerk apologized that the drink and snack machines were poorly stocked -an ongoing issue. The spreads on the beds had dirty spots on them. And strange stains on the bathtub porcelain. Overall not a poor location, but it just appeared tired and dated.

Whole place is dated. Room was old, and "patched up" in several places. They didn't replace towels or clean the room the whole week. We asked for housekeeping service and they came and only made the bed, and gave us a few towels. They didn't clean the bathroom, or even empty the garbage cans. The breakfast bar had no proteins, only cereals and breads. The hot tub did not get hot, and most evenings the pool and hot tub were closed well before the posted closing time. We were in town to visit our grandchildren, and were hoping to bring them back to the hotel pool. The hotel charges $30 per non registered guest for 2 hours of pool use, which is ridiculous, especially when the place was empty. The owner is quite obviously trying to save money instead of spending money to make it better to get more people to actually want to stay there. I would not stay there again. There are much better places in Shelby.

What hot tub? I don’t even want to give this place one star! They had to switch my room 4 times , first room air was broken so was the tv. Next room smelled like bug spray so strong it made my eyes burn. Tv also broken. Third room tv broken air broken smelled of bug spray none of these rooms was clean. Every bed had stains and dirty sheets the WiFi didn’t work and the breakfast was cold I paid way to much to stay in that crappy hotel. Not to mention my wallet was stolen by housekeeping I was told it was never found untill the house keeper swiped my card at the gas station
