Very close to the town centrePosted Nov 24, 2015
Cons: Staff training for some
Location: Easy to walk to centre of town, though it is quite hilly so get the free trolley, which stops next to the hotel
The hotel was well located - an easy walk to town centre. I thought the hotel was a good choice, the only downside was two of the hotel staff. On check-in the clerk was not interested in anything other than speaking to his mates on his phone. He hardly looked at me during check-in and when I asked a question or two about the area or a map, he pointed at the wall, said "there it is" and went back to his call. The next day I was asking the lady on reception if there was a safe for storing valuables and halfway through my question she turned away and went to answer he phone without a word or an excuse me - there aren't any safes by the way! The maintenance guy was great - I spoke to him several times and he answered several questions - he should have been on reception! :-) Good was fine if dated. All rooms open on to a open walkway. So, I would say it is a good place to stay but the staff need some training.

Convenient LocationPosted Nov 3, 2015
Pros: Rooms had refrigerators, microwaves, adequate wi-fi, clean and comfortable beds.
Cons: Add a waffle iron to the breakfast bar.
Location: Walking distance to the Gypsy Hill park. Frontier Culture Museum and Wilson Library are must-sees. Shakespeare theater was sold out--missed it!
Great spot for our visit to Staunton. Close-by to parks and convenient to trolley stop. Toilets in our rooms (2 adjoining) were "micro-sized"--similar to elementary school. Continental breakfast was okay--very basic.

quaint & historic town to stay inPosted Oct 31, 2015 on Hotels
this was the 5th night/4th hotel of a long trip. Located in the downtown of historic Staunton it worked out well for us to walk to local sites we wanted to visit.

I was pleasantly surprised with cleanliness of the hotel and my room. Front desk was very helpful with a couple of questions I had about the town. Shower drain was slow to drain. Overall good value. Breakfast was acceptable.
