"called Hotel Studlagil to cancel our booking for the night, because all the roads were already closed due to the prevailing orange alert and blizzard conditions. Unfortunately, instead of showing empathy, our request for booking cancellation was refused, despite our best efforts to reach out to both the hotel staff and Expedia. None of us wanted this to happen, inflexible policies on the part of certain business establishments such as Hotel Studlagil leaves a bad impression for the foreign tourist."

"The room was clean, the view was amazing, and the staff were all absolutely lovely. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip on the island - my husband and I still talk about the homemade croissants and jam! We also had dinner with them the night before which was also excellent. Thank you for a delightful stay!"

"Amazing dinner buffet"

"This place was ok for a one-night stay, but felt pretty cheap for a hotel that actually wasn’t that cheap. We got a room with a private bathroom and ate at their restaurant area since they have no shared kitchen space. The food wasn't good at all, but the staff was extremely friendly and let many people order food even though the kitchen was supposed to close. We decided not to stick around for breakfast since the dinner food was so mediocre, so I couldn’t comment on if it's worth the extra price."

"This was our favourite stay while in Iceland. The cabins were well stocked and quiet, the right distance from town to feel removed. We were able to cook basic meals and we loved having access to a hot tub and sauna. Wouldn’t change a thing. It was lovely!"
